I guessed when Sarah and her mother visited the gossipy friend (can't remember her name) who told them about Jenny's lack of social skills when she arrived. Young Southern ladies did not lack these skills:)
That was Esther Peabody, Phrynne, and I too started thinking that Jenny might be a slave. And, you’re right. Southerners pride themselves on having superior social skills. That was my second clue.
I also didn't guess that she was a slave. I thought that Jenny's secret was that Charles was Daisy's biological son and Jenny passed him off as her own to trick Gerald into marriage.
