Tay (Read With Tay) (readwithtay) | 82 comments Hi everyone! I hope you’re all enjoying the book and we’re on to week 2 of reading. And I have a special announcement: we’ll be holding a giveaway at the end of the month to win the book! More details on that later.

Feel free to post about your thoughts in these chapters here! We’re about halfway through and I’m excited to see what happens next.

Melissa ~ Missy (FrayedBooks) (missykitty) | 23 comments I'm enjoying Linus and Audrey's interactions, I think they're sweet and how understanding Linus is. But this book isn't what I was expecting exactly. Its a lot more of the "Frank playing video games and mum yelling at him" show than I was expecting and it feels very repetitive - those parts are dull to me. I'm not huge on "family" stories and this does focus a lot on family - its just not something I can really relate to ^^; I wonder if we'll see Linus again since Frank can't play video games with him!?

Interested to see how this will continue on!

deborah (deborahembury) I agree about Linus and Audrey; they seem very cute and I like their moments. Just crossing my fingers that it doesn't turn into a "girl with mental illness meets boy who cures her" thing? We'll see!

My favorite thing about this so far is the humor; I feel like it's genuinely funny and not forced simply for the sake of antics. The moment with the playhouse breaking was almost too much, but honestly, the image of Audrey's mom creepin' in the window had me cackling lol

I do agree that there is a large focus on Frank and Audrey's part of the story seems overshadowed at times. I like that she is filming things through her camera and those scenes are being played out, too. I hope Linus makes his way back into the story sneakily!

I like that you pointed that out because I'm kind afraid of that too? Sure, he could be a help, but it doesn't cure everything just like that! It's therapeutic for them to talk, though. I agree I like the humor! I'm not sure if the author is British!? but it feels like very dry British humor, which I like.

Melissa ~ Missy (FrayedBooks) (missykitty) | 23 comments Via audiobook, this story is most DEFINITELY British and I feel like its has that British humor to it you'd see on TV, I can picture this as a tv show.

I also agree I hope it doesn't turn into a "girl with mental illness meets boy who cures her" thing - that would be a nope. I'm glad she's becoming friends with him - in her own way - and its ok for her to have a crush on him but if he "cures" her out of nowhere I won't be pleased.

I totally agree with you, this would be a really funny tv show! I’m also on board with you for the curing part... I think forming the friendship and the crush is in a way alluding to that but I feel like that kinda normalizes her growing slowly.
