I highly recommended this book written by Deborah Brownson a Mother of two boys with Asperger’s Syndrome and illustrated by Ben Mason who also has mild Asperger’s Syndrome allowing us to get inside the real world of Autism. This book offers a great teaching tool for educating all students what it is like living with Autism every day. The story is told through the eyes of Taryn who is annoyed that her best friend Jake is always being misunderstood and accused of being naughty. These friends have a lot of similarities, but one big difference is that Jake has Autism causing his brain to act differently sometimes. Taryn decides it time to let the world know why Jake isn't naughty.
Thanks Annette for another interesting tip-off. I ordered "After the Fall" following your recommendation and it's perfect for our current focus on resilience. And now I've added 'He's Not Naughty" to my Wheelers basket. Keep 'em coming! :-)
