Hi! I'm going to do the readathon. I was just to a big book sale here and got a bunch of sci-fi books for 50 cents each. No idea what I will read first but I do love sci-fi and fantasy.

https://intotheabyssreviews.blogspot....I think I'll start with:
Not One of Us: Stories of Aliens on Earth
The Winds of Altair
New York 2140
Starting off SciFi June with
, a graphic novel about Earth with less gravity! Fun!EDIT: Finished it. Loved it! Immediately bought the next volume! Third volume comes out in August and I preordered that as well. lol.
I started reading
last month but wasn't even halfway through it so I'm counting it towards this readathon as a fantasy book! And I just started listening to
.
I just finished the first book for this Readathon!#1. Unearthed by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner. It's a YA story about two teens doing archeology on an alien planet and trying to save the Earth from a hidden danger. It was a fun quick read (at 328 pages) and had some good plot twists!
#2. Store of Infinity by Robert Sheckley. This is an anthology of 8 stories that was published in 1960. My favorite one was about the clumsy explorer who meets intelligent mole-like aliens but has many problems with his robot.
Finished listening to
last night and started listening to
this morning! One more sci-fi and one more fantasy! My Overdrive holds came in this weekend. lol.
I've been reading New York 2140 (49%) and The Winds of Altair ( to p. 19) since June 1, but I stopped to read for review The Hungry Ghost (at publisher's request). So that's one completed!Tor.com's free ebook for June isIn Our Own Worlds, I think available till June 7.
So in progress:
In Our Own Worlds
The Winds of Altair
New York 2140, an amazingly riveting work.
I think after these three, The Left Hand of Darkness
Finished New York 2140 last evening: wow, what an extraordinary novel! Totally recommended. May have made me a lifelong fan of Kim Stanley Robinson. Now: another classic author, Ursula L. LeGuin: The Left Hand of Darkness

I listened to Good Omens on audio last month and just finished watching the series on Amazon a couple of days ago. I really liked it. David Tennant and Michael Sheen were so excellent in it.

I'm about half way done with Dune. Unless it really starts to get better, this is going to go down as one of the most overrated books of all time.
Big news over at the mid-event check-in post on the blog. Be sure to check it out! (Link in the top post of this thread.)
Oh how fun! I did also think that it should be longer. ;) So will there still be a Christmas in July readathon at some point in July?
Whelp, I finished Dune. What a disappointment. Up next Her Body and Other Parties by Carmen Maria Machado, which is aLambda Award winning short story collection that blends sci-fi, fantasy, horror, and magical realism.

I finished reading
yesterday and started reading

last night and I'm about 25% through. The narrator is so slow, I'm listening at 2x the speed!
I've been traveling so I haven't had an easy opportunity to post. I started and completed 7 book this month. If you want you can go to the webiste posted below to see my thoughts.
5 of the 7 were sci-fi or fantasy, one other had elements of magical realism. The final book had nothing to do with the genre.
