As always: What rating will you give The Chaperone and why?

I gave this book a 3 (three). The story covers Cora's entire life, in full. A fairly well written book, which, had it stopped anytime after that New York summer, would still have been great. It went on perhaps too long, with too much time spent on summing up every single storyline and social issue.(less)
