Yeah, that's what makes it so chilling and horrifying.


Yeah, the thought of being locked away, having no support system and slowly losing your sanity because of it - that chills me to the bone.

But I was chugging along And Her Smile Will Untether the Universe for the first few stories, thinking, oh, this is well-written but not really scary. Then I read the one with Audrey and was completely terrified of going to sleep that night... and the next... Okay, so it's been a few days and I haven't mustered the courage to pick the collection back up yet.
(It is a very good book.)


Yep!! Love it so much!! I narrated it for the podcast this month. The story always makes me shudder.

That is one of my fav collections. Gwendolyn is so talented. It think that is a great collection to start with. I would suggest some Angela Carter next.
