Eddie was an odd one. We knew early on that he was infatuated with Una. I didn't begin to really suspect him until he was crying in the kitchen and wouldn't tell anyone why. I believe the kitchen staff said Una had yelled at him. That was when I figured he had killed Truett thinking Truett took the money.
I thought Eddie had a one-way infatuation and that explained his protective behavior towards Una. As the story progressed and Una started showing her manipulative side, I figured she had encouraged it. Never did I think she’d promised him they’d marry, though.
I was pretty certain he’d killed Pollock but was struggling with a motive for killing Truett until I learned he’d delivered a package to him and Una was desperately looking for that money.

At first I thought he only had a one-sided crush on Una. I seriously began suspecting him when they said he had been many times to deliver things to Truett, so he knew the place well. It was only later that I began suspecting him of killing not just Truett but Pollock too.
