I haven't read this book yet, but I've been meaning to. What did everyone else think of it who's read it?
I read this one a few years ago. I have to admit that it didn't blow me away while I was reading it, but then I just kept thinking about it until the second book was released. It ended up being one of my favorite UF series. It was the characters that made the series for me.
Okay, thanks. I'll definitely have to pick this series up.
This is one of those books for which I've been looking for a reason. I'll likely pick it up a bit later in the month - around the new releases. :D
I thought this was a charming surprise. Bennett pulled on some of the tried and true aspects of the genre, but gave a nice little flair that made the story compelling. In particular, I thought the discussion of "heka" was cool. And I know Cady was all apologetic about the crazy she brings to the table, bit I don't even have to read the descriptions of the next books to know Lon's past is going to make lots of trouble for the happy couple.
After I finish the latest Kate Daniels book, the next book in this series is going on the list.
Just finished this one, I enjoyed it. :) I agree with some of the reviews I've seen that the book didn't quite have the sense of urgency you would expect in Cady's dire situation. Nonetheless I thought it was a fun read and I like the main character, and plan to continue with the series. I'm also interested to see what Cady discovers about (view spoiler)
When it started with the heroine as a tough bartender, I was rolling my eyes, but it grabbed me all the way through the sequels as well.
