Please post a comment below to nominate a book for the group to read for August 2019.

Please use the "add book/author" link just above the comment box to insert a link to the Goodreads book page for the book you are nominating, so other members can more easily assess it.

You may nominate a book which has been suggested previously and did not win. You may nominate more than one book, but we might not include all of your nominations in the voting.

Please do not nominate a book which is unlikely to be available to all members, such as one which was just published within the last three months or which is only available on Kindle in the U.S.

Nominations will close on June 21 or when we have about 10 good nominations, whichever occurs first.

Brainstorm Detective Stories From the World of Neurology by Suzanne O'Sullivan Brainstorm: Detective Stories From the World of Neurology

"Brainstorm follows the stories of people whose medical diagnoses are so strange even their doctor struggles to know how to solve them.

The brain is the most complex structure in the universe. Neurologists must puzzle out life-changing diagnoses from the tiniest of clues. It’s the ultimate medical detective work. In this riveting book, one of the UK’s leading neurologists will take you with her as she follows the clues of her patients’ symptoms. It’s a journey that will open your eyes to the unfathomable intricacies of our brains, and the infinite variety of human capacity and experience."

We have already read Death by Black Hole: And Other Cosmic Quandaries. In fact it appears that we've read it twice, in June 2009 and January 2010.

MindOverMatter | 1 comments I would read the Diet Myth proposed by Nazima above. Author Tim Spector.

I would also read Behave or Change your mind as proposed by Tim, Authors Sapolsky (Behave) and Pollan (Change your mind).
