I feel an affinity with Lirael and her concern about not fitting in, plus she chose a job in a library, excellent choice. Her happiness when she found that others got the sight later was so sweet although I've cleverly managed to see a spoiler by reading the synopsis of the third book - so don't do that people.
I was a little sad that we've stepped away from Sabriel and Touchstone's story although we get to see them and know a little about what has happened since the end of Sabriel.
I'm not sure about Dog yet, what she is or if she can be fully trusted.

I was really curious to see if there would be more Sabriel and Touchstone, but I also really like Lirael as a character! Was definitely not expecting libraries. Such a pleasant surprise :)

Since this is a reread for me, I'm not surprised by what's happening but, I still really enjoyed Lirael exploring the library even though I'm sad we've moved away from Sabriel and Touchstone. I'm very happy to revisit the Dog as well. She is such a character!
