This is Lucilla's book, which comes out next year.

If you receive SL'snewsletter, this is mentioned in it.

More information will be provided later.

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 28 comments Bookmarked the excerpt, I'll go back and read it when I have a few minutes. I'm looking forward to this one after getting to know Lucilla a bit in By Winter's Light (Cynster, #21) by Stephanie Laurens , and meeting Thomas :)

That is what I am going to do also!!

HJ | 52 comments I'm feeling grumpy because I want a family tree but so far the offer isn't open to us in the UK. I know I can see the family trees on the website, but I still want one!!

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 28 comments I pre-ordered it to get the poster, curious to see what it's going to look like :)

Ann Holland (hummyfan) | 2 comments It's March 2015 and the paperback edition of The Tempting of Thomas Carrick has hit the shelves in the U.S. I expected more from the book---like a coherent plot. Here are some reasons I dropped it in the trash the minute I finished it: (1) Thomas' uncle, The Carrick clan's chief falls ill and his eldest son, Nigel, steps in then badly manages the clan's resources and farms. After the clan's healer is murdered, Lucilla is called in to help The Carrick recover. She finds rat poison on a bottom shelf in the pantry and thinks the first healer may have been done in. Plot flaw? She doesn't get the rat poison out of the house, never mentions it to anyone in the Carrick clan and goes on her merry way. (2) The Carrick is recovering and asks Thomas to leave so the man's son can take over with the help of his father. Thomas moves to the Vale and starts an affair.after that he can't be bothered to check on his clan chief---in the last few pages of the book that becomes a problem. Solutions may be supplied in Lauren's next book in the series---the one about Marcus Cynester. To sum up The Tempting of Thomas Carrick, don't bother to read it. It's a mess.

Nikki | 1 comments I haven't gotten to read the book yet, but Stephanie has made it clear in her newsletters that the ending is a cliff hanger and would be resolved in the next book:

"Once you reach the end of Lucilla and Thomas’s story, I’m sure your thoughts will turn to Marcus, and just what his future holds. The Epilogue leaves him hanging, waiting on Fate’s direction - and that comes decisively in the opening chapters of A MATCH FOR MARCUS CYNSTER. Sadly, those opening chapters carry too much of a “spoiler” quality for Lucilla and Thomas’s tale, so they’re not available anywhere yet - and that’s also why they are not in the back of THE TEMPTING OF THOMAS CARRICK."

Dallass (tundrablue) | 2 comments I love the Cynster and Bastion Club books, and I have ALL of them, but after reading Ann's review I'm not sure that I'll continue with the next generation. Will borrow from my library first ;-D

Maggie (magpiemagpie) | 4 comments I thought this was pretty clunky plot wise, and Thomas didn't seem very exciting a prospect. I really enjoy encountering past characters though, and feel Richard and Catriona should have had a story too. Not her best, but not awful either, just a little different and trying to make one plot fit too books diluted it too much.

HJ | 52 comments If you haven't read this book yet, I suggest that you also get A Match for Marcus Cynster and read the two books one after the other. Otherwise, the ending of The Tempting of Thomas Carrick is rather frustrating, because it isn't really complete.

Deb F | 1 comments I'm another who was bothered by this book. Thomas is a hard-working import-export businessman, who is called back to the area near the Vale by duty to his clan. He then decides to (spoilers) almost completely ignore his business (and later leave the running of it completely to his uncle and cousin) for love. It's all very well to 'follow your heart', but come ON!!

Laura | 11 comments I've been reading the comments and something has always bothered me about the book and I finally clued in to it. Its a complete role reversal. In just about all of Lauren's books, its the Hero who falls first and has to convince the Heroine to fall in love with him. or admit it LOL This has the roles completely reversed-The only other couple I can think of where the roles were similar to Thomas and Lucilla was Emily and Gareth. I'm gonna have to reread Thomas's book again LOL I think knowing this will make me enjoy it more. Its not my fave of hers but I do give her credit for trying to change things up a bit.

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 28 comments Just finished this. I liked it pretty well, though it's good to know that the mystery should be wrapped up in Marcus and Niniver's book. I was left wondering, but feel relieved now that I will get some more satisfying answers soon.
