I wanted to like this one more than I did. I just felt the story was flat. I am curious to see the show though.
I am planning on starting this after I’ve finished the book I’m currently reading, so probably sometime later today. As in after sleeping. My partner is very excited about my reading this since it’s been on my TV are forever and it’s one of his favorite books. And I’ve refused to watch the show with him until after I’ve read the book because I am that person.
Finished. It was a pretty quick read for me. I thought the story presented some interesting ideas and I really liked the concept of a book with in a book as it was used in this but the characters were really flat for me. None of them quite felt like real people. This honestly felt incredibly reflective of its time., Very much a science fiction take on a cold war era spy novel.

It's America in 1962. Slavery is legal once again. The few Jews who still survive hide under assumed names. In San Francisco, the I Ching is as common as the Yellow Pages. All because some twenty years earlier the United States lost a war—and is now occupied by Nazi Germany and Japan.
This harrowing, Hugo Award-winning novel is the work that established Philip K. Dick as an innovator in science fiction while breaking the barrier between science fiction and the serious novel of ideas. In it Dick offers a haunting vision of history as a nightmare from which it may just be possible to wake.
