It’s interesting the way that the society has been set up so that nobody knows who they can trust anymore. It seems good that at least Offred has Ofglen to speak with. Hopefully she is someone she can trust. I like the way that the flashbacks are slowly revealing more of the world that Offred lived in before. It must be hard when everything one has known comes crashing down and you have no control over it. Now that she realizes that she’s not the first Handmaid to be summoned to the Commander’s room makes me wonder what exactly he is up to. I’m sure he must be after more than stolen kisses and Scrabble .

It was good to finally get some more background on what happened! I could not imagine getting your own money taken away and then being fired from your job just for being a woman (although I’m sure there are situations like this that occur that just aren’t so blatantly so—in regards to job loss).
