About to read it in French. Don’t yet know the official English title in translation.
I find Simenon’s French usage to be thrillingly world-class top-notch.
Sometimes I’ll read one of his Maigret mysteries just to imbibe his French, like I sometimes go see a movie to check out the scenery or the set design or décor.
I just finished the English translation. It's called The Yellow Dog. After I read it, I saw that there was a movie made of it in 1932, that I'd love to see. I found it on Amazon but it was $$$ so I didn't get it. Curious if anyone has seen it?
