First off anybody that knows me hear this, if we get trapped in an deadly Escape Room trust that I will be telling all the secrets I've ever done, you've ever done, and even some out there rumors. Do not tell me secrets you don't want to come out in a life or death situation. Second this book was good. This was the fastest I've finished a book I'm awhile. The story is built up nicely. We know these characters before all the fun starts it seems. The Escape Room puzzles weren't all that complicated. It was more getting people to admit something or other instead of finding puzzle pieces but the end was satisfying. Good stuff

My Review (SPOILERS):

I thought the premise for the book was really good, I was worried that it wouldn't be as exciting as seeing something like this play out on a screen (like the similar movie we got in January).
I got to say, I liked this book way more than I was expecting to. I thought the pacing was good, and yet we got to know a lot about the characters through their interactions and decisions. There was no need for a ton of lengthy description of each character.
The ending was super satisfying and I genuinely was not expecting Leo to be the worst of the bunch...least of all Happy being the "mastermind" behind the traps. BUT we never saw him die...classic horror rule lol
The very VERY end was a little weird to me, I thought it was a bit out of character for Cher, who JUST got this new lease on her life, is building a better relationship with her mom, and then that letter arrives implying her father's death wasn't an accident. It felt like an unneeded cliffhanger. Why not just let the book have the happy ending?

Despite the ending, I really enjoyed this book: 4/5

aZuuL | 15 comments Had a good time reading this one, never had a dull moment and some of the situations are over the top …“The skin on his shins had melted into the denim of his jeans. His feet were bubbling in his shoes”… and funny …”I don't think you have enough Vaseline for this, said Leo”…
Talking about to be in the wrong place at the wrong time !

It's well paced, the story, the characters, the events,… for a short story like it is very well fleshed out. If you are looking for a quick read, about under 4 hours to finish the story, but yet satisfying and you like the Saw-franchise then this book is for you !

I had never read a Iain Rob Wright story before. I was surprised how well written this independent book was. Definitely going to pick up some other stuff of him ! Dark Ride is already sitting in my basket at Amazon !

My rating: between 3,5 and 4 out of 5
