Ruth | 682 comments Enjoyed Latin Twist for lunch. I'm not sure which experience was more sensual, eating the food or listening the the chef, Kyle, tell us about his ingredients, the dishes on the menu, and recipes he would like to try in the future.

This is a man who clearly enjoys food! The menu is a mix of Caribbean and South American dishes. The food was great, I would love to get back and try the shark, or the barbecue which apparently contains pomegranate!

The Ecuadorian coffee was truly supremo though. If you are anywhere near the truck in the morning, better get a cup! You won't regret it.

They also have Inca Cola, which I have fond memories of from my travels in South America.

"The Coca-Cola Company owns the Inca Kola trademark everywhere but in Peru.[6] In Peru, the Inca Kola trademark is owned by Corporación Inca Kola Perú S.A., which since 1999[7] is a joint venture between the Coca-Cola Company and the Lindley family, former sole owners of Corporación Inca Kola Perú S.A. and Corporación José R. Lindley S.A.. Inca Kola is a source of national pride and patriotism in Peru, a national icon."

Highly recommended!

Ruth | 682 comments Enjoyed Tango's today! 701 N Orchard St, Boise

I can't believe I have lived down the street from this place for 4 years without trying it! The empanadas were delicious. I recommend the Gaucho (Spanish for cowboy).

The fries were bog standard frozen bag fries - though they were well cooked, personally I wouldn't waste space with them - get 2 empanadas instead!

The mate was served cold which different from what I have tried in the past and much sweeter. To be honest, it tasted like any sweetened ice tea to me.

They do sell the leaves and devices so that you can make hot mate - and the traditional vessels. Apparently American health code doesn't allow sharing the vessels in a restaurant so you have to take it home and make your own. When I was traveling in Argentina I learned that drinking yerba mate was an important daily ritual. Argentinian backpackers traveling the continent with all of their possessions in a bag would even make room for their mate vessel and leaves since life wasn't life without it.

Will have to go back and get some! Also can't wait to try some of the other empanada flavors. They have vegetarian options too for those so inclined.
