Yah, and applause for all of our Moderators, Holly and Faye, for starting and keeping this site interesting. And for our newbies: Renee, Sandy, and Kassandra; who have enthusiasm, a kind word and encouraging for us all, and have wonderful ideas to pull us into the next year! Hoorah!!!
Second that Renee, Faye and Holly have done an awesome job so far and created a fantastic group. It's exciting to work with them on plans for even more fun things for the group!
I am doing a whole month of Halloween reading, and I will probably start before October! I have a working list of books, some on my nightstand and will probably pick up more at the library! Not to mention what I will put on my Kindle! I can't wait to find out what the group reads are for the month as well, as I have a feeling they will tie into the Halloween theme!
I'll be doing all hallows read all month long with two online book recommendation swaps for it and next month's readathon at the reading for pleasure book club will be horror themed so I got some horror ebooks and books that I'll be reading next month which includes jane slayre and more.
Sandy, what fun! I've already started to compile my Thriller/Horror books, starting with Dracula. Now if I can call on Aitziber and get some wonderful ideas for some shorties of this genre.
so I'm a little slow, this is all week? Weeeee!!!
I had to miss the previous Readathon due to prior commitments, but this one I will definitely participate in! It's the perfect opportunity to explore the Horror / Supernatural genre as I'm woefully under-read in this department.
The group read nomination threads are now up! Make sure you get your nominations in before they close on the 20th.
Don't forget everyone, our Challenge poll opens today! This gives you the opportunity to vote on whether you want a Non-Fiction Challenge or a World-Lit Challenge! It would be great if as many people as possible could vote!
I'll put the link to it in this post later.

Sorry about the poll. I set it up days ago with a start and end date, but it did not open as scheduled. I'm looking into it. I'll just repost the poll if I have to.

It's there, you just have to scroll down. They're listed in order of the date they were created.

Apologies for the delay in the Challenge poll going up. Technical issues got the better of us!
You can check out the poll here. Essentially, it's deciding which challenges you want running next year! It would be great if you could vote! Could affect what we're doing in 2015 quite greatly!
In other news, you may see that we've started updating the description. This is just to highlight to everyone whats coming up! Hopefully you'll find this feature useful!

Our Group Read Discussion Threads for November are now up!
We've got a great selection this month, I'm personally super excited by all of them!
And I hope everyone is enjoying the readathon!

The Readathon was a massive success! Thank you to everyone who took part, and well done to people getting such high page totals! We'll be holding another in the last week of December, in order to hit that final push for our goals!
On another note, there has been a bit of discussion on what is happening to the Group in 2015. Just to confirm: we are not moving groups. It will be the same group, but new threads will be set up and the title changed etc. From December onwards, we will start opening things up for 2015, especially your 2015 Personal Challenges place to start getting them all organised!
Also, we'll have loads of new great stuff happening, so it will be a flurry of activity!

I completely forgot to do an announcement for everything currently going on!
We have two polls for you to vote on, which we really need your votes for!
The first is a poll to decide when the December Readathon will be! This is to 'close' the year, but we understand that people are super busy around important holidays, so we've opened it up to you guys when to pick. You can find it here.
We also have a really important poll to get your opinions on our new Group-Wide Challenge: The Points Challenge. You may have seen this in the Mini Challenges folder, where we test run it for the last two months to get an idea of it's popularity. We want you to give us your opinion on it. You can find the poll here, and we've also set up a discussion thread to get your opinions.
We really want your views on how to run it! Give us all you ideas! :)

Loads of things are happening!
You might see a few changes going on around the site through December. This is essentially us prepping for 2015. We've got loads of really awesome things happening next year, so things might be a bit mad and wild. If you're at all confused, don't worry. Feel free to ask us any questions you have!
Most importantly, have you signed up for our final readathon of the year? It's the big on, running from the 24th to the 31st! Don't forget to sign up to the event (so we can get a rough idea of numbers), and get chatting in our discussion threads!
Secondly, you may have noticed a new folder is up and running. Towards the bottom of the group, we now have a place to put your 2015 Personal Challenge threads for next year! It's only 31 days away! (eek!) You're welcome to make them what you wish, go as mad in organisation as you wish!
And finally, yes, the name has changed! We're getting ready for the move to 2015! Just to make things clear, we are not moving groups. We will be archiving threads and rearranging things a bit, but it will ultimately be the same group!
Don't forget, we always want your suggestions for the group! Come up with an idea for 2015? Let us know in the Suggestions/Improvements thread!

Just another announcement!
We've decided to redesign our icon/banners for 2015, to give the group a fresh look and feel!

If you want to give your opinion on it, please post it in the Suggestions/Improvements thread! We'd love to hear everyone's views on them!

I've just opened a new thread and posted a mock-up of the 2015 Group Challenge Calendar. You may want to take a look as you make your plans for the New Year of reading.
Okay guys, you might see a few changes going on in the folders, etc! We're starting to prep the group for 2015, which means moving a few things around and everything.
We'll be creating an Archives folder for old 2014 posts that we don't need anymore, or things that are out of date. If you can't find a thread, check there!
And we've had a whopping 63 of you sign up for our December Readathon. I hope everyone has their books ready!
Don't forget, we've got our polls for the first Group Reads of 2015! So get over there and vote for your favourite!

Hi everyone! Only 4 days to Christmas, eek!
You may see we've made a few changes round the group! It's all very exciting! This is just an update to explain what we've done.
First off, you'll see some new folders. The Monthly Threads folder will now hold all of our monthly update threads, both the general and our Challenge threads (Fiction, Non-Fiction and World-Lit). This just makes things a bit clearer and more organised.
Our Archives folder now holds most of the old 2014 threads that we don't really need, but people may want to refer back to for information etc. If you can't find a post, check there. If you still can't find a thread, post in the 'Any Questions?' thread or just message one of the Moderators. We'll be able to help you out either way.
The Points Challenge will now have it's own folder. This will keep everything together, much like we've done for the 10,000 Challenge. We hope everyone will get involved in it, but we understand that it does take some commitment.
Furthermore, our Group Read - Nominations thread will run slightly differently. We'll be archiving as we go along, so most of the time, the Nominations folder wont be seen. It wouldn't have suddenly disappeared, it will just be empty for the majority of the month. You'll be able to see the nominations still, just the thread will be in the Archives folder. This is just so we don't get a massive build up, and with the new folders, we want to keep things as simple as possible.
If anyone has any questions, about the changes, 2015 or anything, don't hesitate to ask us on the 'Any Questions' thread, we'll try get back to you as soon as we can.
