Could we write a piece from someone who knew (and/or had a bond) with someone who is asexual? Maybe discuss how that effected them, or something along those lines?

Being asexual myself, I'm glad to see that something like this is happening. It makes me feel better to know I'm not one of a few but one of a lot of other people like me. Very cool. :)
This is awesome! Growing up in a time before Asexuality had been identified was trying to say the least, and I know there are still teens and adults who battle with where they fit in, believing they are broken, or worse taking risks in an attempt to fit in somewhere. For some of us those early years affect the rest of our lives, altering us in unimaginable ways. Awareness is a key we all hold, and I hope more of us feel comfortable stepping forward and sharing our experiences as understanding grows.
