Jeff Merritt was relentless in his pursuit of punishing Kate because of Paige’s murder despite his personal role in the failed sting. Was his behavior understandable?

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1812 comments Misplaced blame and guilt. Understandable, but also unforgivable.
Paige and Evan would not have been killed if he hadn't lied and failed to send in backup. It's on him.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2973 comments Agree, misplaced blame and guilt and maybe just covering his a--. He needed a scapegoat and Kate was it.

Melissa (melissasd) | 676 comments Merritt was trying to deal with his own failure by blaming someone else. People do it all the time and Lauren is right, it's unforgivable. Her got what was coming to him. He'll never forget what he did.

I agree it was unforgivable. He was relentless in his attempt to ruin Kate, knowing he was ultimately responsible. It was criminal behavior and he put lives at risk.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2973 comments Not only did he put lives at risk, his witch hunt for Kate made is possible for Trask to continue and eventually kidnap Lucy. the guy was slime. Not much better that the criminals he was paid to go after.

That's a good point, Anita.

I agree, Anita. He actually prolonged this whole scenario where Trask could continue on. And what makes it worse is that he had a responsible position in the FBI. And what got me was that he continued until the end to try and cover up with he did.
