It's not that he was damaged. He was a sociopath to begin with. A 13-year-old defying authority at school, eavesdropping on his parents, following his father to prostitutes. This isn't to say that he deserved what his father and the call girls did to him, but it didn't turn him into a monster. He was well on his way to being one before the abuse, which ended up focusing his predispositions on hatred toward women.
Yes, I feel he was damaged before that or a sociopath as Lauren stated. Anita made a good point too. Without the rape it may have just taken him longer to do what he did.
I believe he was already exhibiting sociopathic tendencies before the rape by the prostitutes, which caused some serious damage. It unleashed his vengeance against women.
