Desdemona gasped as it hit her again, sliding down one of the columns and sitting herself on the floor, panting slightly. Some visions were more painful than others. She sat there for a while staring up through the broken roof and into the sky before running a hand through her haphazardly cut blonde hair, and composing herself again.

Most her visions didn't hurt at all but if they were to happen particularly far into the future, it would take its toll on her body. At times like that, she would run to the ruins, her safe haven of sorts. The spiritual air of the place made her feel calm again; though she had no claim to religion. Not anymore, at any rate. She heard a scuffle and then looked to see her badger, Pet, bounding towards her. She stroked his head lightly.

"Pet," she said softly, a small smile on his face, "You won't die for 5 years and 8 months."

Eve had felt one of her children close by. She could only describe the feeling as a tingling in the back of her head. She gracefully walked to her child, a witch it seems. She felt a smile tingle at her lips , at the sight of her and the badger, but she held it back. No need for her to appear soft on her first impression. "Child, I assume you are taking a liking to your gift?" Eve knew this child after seeing her face. Se had only discovered her real powers recently, so she could understand that the girl had no idea who Eve was.

As she waited for there girl to answer she thought about her plans for her. If she would be a warrior, or just an innocent on the sidelines. She would not judge her, weather or not she chose to fight. After all every species had cowards, and nothing Eve could do would change that.

Desdemona blinked, looking up at the woman who had snuck up on them. Instantly, the badger scarpered, and Desdemona looked up at her with an almost blank, unsurprised look.

"I was wondering how long it was until you turned up," she said softly, "And no, I don't particularly like it, but it can't be helped."

The woman had been appearing in her dreams for weeks now, and though Desdemona had no idea who she actually was she knew that fire always followed her. A darkness enveloped this woman the likes of which Desdemona had never seen. Was this the sort of darkness that lay within the Forest of Them? Monsters prowling in the shadows...

Eve frowned, and started to slowly walk around the girl, like a predator closing in on its prey. Her black dress, slithered along like her own personal pet. "Girl, most people would kill to have the gifts I've given you. Do you even know how rare it is to have premonitions?" Eve was getting angry. She only met the girl and she spat on this beautiful gift the she conjured for her. She never got respect from newbies.

Eve huffed and walked to a crumbling pillar. She traced a gentle finger along the surface, leaving a cracking in her fingers wake. Destroying things could be the best medication. "If you don't like it I could always strip my gift away" it was a painful process, one that Eve enjoyed to inflict. Usually half way through, her patient is begging that she give the power back. And if they somehow make it past that point, they usually die. She smiled at thought. A dead human was better that a want to be human, any day.

"Rarity means very little to me," said Desdemona calmly, "I've seen enough to know it holds little importance in life whatsoever. I've seen your future, miss, though it changes often. There is a war coming..." Her wide eyes flashed with pain for a moment as she recalled the screams of children, children on all sides, and the smell of burning flesh as it invaded her nose with unwarranted force.

She stood up and shook her head, frowning as the woman cracked the crumbling pillar. She was one who believed in the preservation of that which was old and beautiful. "If you took it away now it would be like being blind. There's no use; everyone I love is already dead." Smiling, she nodded her head, ready to depart. "You bestowed upon me this power perhaps, but with it comes wisdom. Goodbye, strange woman."

Eve smiled when she talked about the war. Yes, the war. She had been preparing for for this moment for years, decades. So it was time to rally the troops. This girl seemed to not want any part. Eve huffed. It would be this girls loss. She would have been willing to let this girl go, if only she would have been more polite.

"How dare you?" Eve was pissed. She didn't care if she was losing her cool. But she had never had one of her children disrespect her in such a way. "I understand that you don't particularly like me. But that gives you no excuse to just ... Dismiss me." She said appealed.

"I don't not like you," said Desdemona, a smile on her face, "I don't have much of an opinion of you at all actually, opinion is not a thing I really partake in." She looked at the woman she quite openly seethed, and was hit with another, more gentle, vision. "Unless things change, you will lose," she said softly, "The humans are at war with each other for now, but if peace is restored you will not stand a chance. Good if fundamentally more powerful than evil." She nodded. If telling her this would appease her seemingly short temper, then it would be all worth it. Desdemona could be of no more use to her. Her body was slender and feeble and she could not use offensive spells for the life of her. Foresight was her single gift.

Eve could see that she was telling the truth, and that a vision had just arrived and past. She knew this of course that is why she was taking action now. Ever pondered about a role for this girl. She couldn't just let a seerer out of her grasp. Sure she could create monsters but one of this rarity was hard to conjure. "How would you like an offer, as a... Apology for my short temper?" She needed this girl, she was important weather or not what side she was on. "I will giving you anything within my power, as long as you tell Em of any visions that can influence my future, deal?"

Desdemona blinked. "I want a house of my own where I can live in peace away from humans and monsters alike. I do not wish to know their futures, if they do they can come to me."

She lifted her skirts and got up onto the fallen pillar, heading towards the wall. "My name is Desdemona, my late father called me Mona. It's less of a mouthful. My mother died as I was born." She looked out over the moors and in the distance she could see the forest. This was as far as she dared to go; any monster would think her human.

Eve thought about the proposal, she would keep her promise, only doing what she could. She put her hands behind her back and looked at the girl with no emotion in her eyes, or stance. "I can grant you a house, but when it comes to your powers... Well." She bit her lip thinking of a good way to explain.

"If I did that, if I could Even. You wouldn't be the same girl. By granting you these powers, they attach to your emotions and soul. Removing them would be painful emotionally and mentally. But I couldn't take your power away in pieces. For you to have the sight of seeing my future you would have to keep the sight of others as well. You have to take the good and the bad." Eve nodded at er own response, as if she was agreeing with herself.
