Jeff | 425 comments It seems that Arrow and the Flash will be sharing villains this season, more likely The Flash will be sharing a rogues villain and letting Captain Boomerang take a pot shot at Green Arrow during this season.
IT doesn't seem that he will be a part of Waller's Suicide Squad like he has been inthe past, but he will be there to be a thorn in the Arrows side.

George ‘Digger’ Harkness aka Captain Boomerang will be played by Nick Tarabay. Plans are that Boomerang will be around for the crossover event as well this season.
Here's hoping that the show runners realize that the Flash's rogues are like bad pennies and always keep turning up.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) Intriguing - they seem to be putting a lot into this upcoming season of Arrow, it must be doing quite well.

Ahmad (spiked_92) Who else is tired of Arrow's memory flashbacks?

message 4: by Jeff (new)

Jeff | 425 comments I'm not. The flashback are putting together a comprehensive storyline that is telling the whole Arrow story. Where he is in his own head so we understand the mechanisms involved in his decisions he makes. Its a necessary evil.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) I do have to agree with Ahmad, I'm tired of them too. Expected them the first season but didn't know it was supposed to be a part of each episode, even now. They don't bother me much, but I'm not crazy about them. I know they use them to explain things but ....

message 6: by Jeff (new)

Jeff | 425 comments I suppose they could do it every other episode, but each time they show a flashback it seems to be pertinent to the episode itself.

Sometimes it's big significance, other times tiny...like the last one. I could have gotten that about the character that helped him (his old friend, can't recall name) without the flashbacks myself. We already saw a lot of flashbacks of them and got to know him as a character already. I think it's just the shows style, which is fine. It's something I kind of ignore and doesn't hurt my involvement in the show.

Jeff | 425 comments I know where your coming from Erin. Understood and I agree actually. :)

Travis (travishiltz) | 487 comments We started by watching Flash and have only seen the Arrow pilot and the crossover episodes.
It isn't hooking us the way Flash does.
Cool to see the team he has by season 4 and very cool seeing evil John Barrowman.

Not loving the dark tone and now that they are bringing super heroes into Arrow it's an awkward fit.

Arrow is pretty serious/dark for the duration. It gets better for awhile after the start, but I've been struggling with it again since last season.

Travis (travishiltz) | 487 comments So, my wife became obsessed with Arrow and we blew through about three seasons in a month.

Random thoughts:

This show is a really good cast saddled with some of the most frustratingly bad writing I've encountered in awhile.

They built an ensemble and don't know what to do with half of them.

For a mysterious desert island it has an overpopulation problem. I wouldn't be surprised if during a flashback Oliver meet the family from Land of the lost and the cast of the Tempest.

I know Green Arrow's cast and rogues gallery is thin but the amount of Batman mythos they shoveled on is annoying.

"I don't want to be a killer!"
Then stop aiming for their heads, Ollie!
It took you a whole season to figure out how to wound or take the pointy bits off...?

Does Felicity own a pair of pants?

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) I liked Arrow for the first several seasons, but I gave up on it now because to me - like you said - it seems like they don't really know what to do with the cast half the time anymore. And I'm not sure why they are making all the side characters sudden superheroes instead of keeping them as part of normal team members. It's a little pet peeve that bugs me - suddenly everyone's a warrior fighter who can fight like Arrow. The lawyer was the most unrealistic about this. When did she spend all those years on an island training to get near his level of fighting skill? :/

Well, she was a pretty crap lawyer, so I prefer her as the second Black Canary.

Travis (travishiltz) | 487 comments Watched the first Constantine appearance o Arrow, as well as the Vixen team up.

Love the super hero stuff, everything else is so bad I want to hit myself in the head with a hammer.

Told my wife I'm done. Tell me when there is another big super hero episode, but I can't take this on a regular basis.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) I had given up on Arrow awhile back. I know the actor was tweeting he wanted a crossover with Constantine but I had sort of given up on it happening since it's been over a year.

Travis (travishiltz) | 487 comments Watched Arrow for the Invasion crossover.
Random thoughts:

Wow!
His support team is Mr. Terrific, Wild Dog and Ragman!
They all look great and sound so wrong, I have mixed feelings.

Has Felicity ever worn a pair of pants? Does she actually own any?

The CW drinking game: every episode featuring White Canary will include some variation on "By, the way, I like sex with girls"
when you spot it,take a drink!

message 17: by Travis (new)

Travis (travishiltz) | 487 comments Pretty much given up on Arrow.
My wife loves it, so I occasionally watch an episode with her.

Want to like this show more than I ever have.
Good cast and it's really trying, but it's just so over-angsty and working so hard to be serious that it is missing the sense of fun the other CW shows have,

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) I got out of the show years ago. I wasn't enjoying it anymore. Sometimes I think I should give it another try but it kept souring on me. Same with the Flash latest 2 seasons so I haven't watched the last yet.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) Travis wrote: "Good cast and it's really trying, but it's just so over-angsty and working so hard to be serious that it is missing the sense of fun the other CW shows have,

My issue was they seemed to run out of plot material so basically made everyone and their grandmother a powerful fighting machine superhero. It became redundant.

message 20: by Travis (new)

Travis (travishiltz) | 487 comments Yeah, I catch an episode now and then because my wife is sticking with it.
It's okay, but no urge to watch it all before the grand finale.

message 21: by Jeff (new)

Jeff | 425 comments So, Im not sure if any of you have heard, but There is a good chance that Arrow may be coming back within another year or two. Steven Amell has told DC/WB that he's interested in coming back to reprise his character and they seem to have an interest. it could be the catalyst that gets Green Arrow and the canaries off the ground.

message 22: by Jeff (new)

Jeff | 425 comments As I have reported earlier, There will be a HBO Max Arrow series with Stephen Amell reprising his role as Arrow. Im not sure with this is a continuation or a reboot. Hopefully this will be set in the Titans/ Doom Patrol universe. Of course at this point, with DC admiting that there are also may multiverse realities that it makes crossing over alot easier now
