DC on TV discussion

Fox has committed to making a DC/Vertigo Sandman spinoff show called Lucifer. Based on a Sandman story arc where the prince of Darkness is tired of reigning in Hell and wants the Sandman to take over his place. In that arc Lucifer releases the damned souls and demon on the world while he goes on walk about, finally settling in on running a Piano bar.

That is kind of a very loose scenario since the story line is quite complex, however, Fox has jumped at the chance to take on another dark DC character and plot.
The network does plan on airing pilot of the show, which means that the series will be pretty far off but it will be a good way to gauge whether the series will fly or not.

I'm officially excited if they go forward with this one. I'm not familiar with that story but it sounds like it could hold a lot of potential for interesting storylines. I guess Fox will be trying their hands with the trend - they just seem to cancel shows so easily IMO

Enjoyed the Lucifer comic, not sure how I feel them giving him a show, before Sandman, but could see the concept making a good TV show with the right people working on it.
