Rich Peebles Madigan (rpmadigan) I read "Devil in the White City" by the same author. I enjoyed the alternating chapters in that book because it broke up the narrative and kept me from burning out on one branch of the story or the other. Although the history geek in me particularly liked the story of the Chicago World's Fair and everything that went in to making it happen, at times I felt like the story of H.H. Holmes was over-covered. I could've done without the tremendous amounts of back-story that Larson included there. I am a little apprehensive about "Thunderstruck", as I don't necessarily trust that Larson will be able to connect the two different narratives the way he did with Holmes & the World's Fair. At least with those stories there was the direct connection of Holmes taking advantage of the hustle and bustle in Chicago to find some of his victims.
