L.A. Pontes (goodreadscomlapontes) think I have a worthy topic here and would like to hear the community on it. I'm rather new here at goodreads so forgive - and enlighten me! - if I'm not well informed. Currently, only US and Canadian citizens can enter a giveaway, so anyone outside of these countries cannot see the giveaway pages. But "foreign" authors listing a giveaway should be able to see the workings of a giveaway. They - we - should be able to see how it works. See for example, if our book has fallen into the right category or genre; see how many people, on average, enter each giveaway. Have a look at their profiles and so on. In short, we should be able to see the insides of the program an the details of its functioning, so we could plan things better. I was even sure if it was worthwhile, before I asked a reader here, who very nicely gave a bit of insight on some of its details. The way its done now, its a blind cast for us who live outside the US or Canada, the only thing I'm able to see is the initial page saying that only those citizens can enter. So at least the authors should be able to have clthink I have a worthy topic here and would like to hear the community on it. Chris Hall (chris_hall) | 2 comments I agree you do have a worthy topic. It is, however, a sad fact that non-US/Canadian citizens do have the best of everything when it comes to Amazon. I'd dearly love to have access to Kindle Unlimited too. Sadly, no. When I queried with Amazon' help' the lady I spoke to suggested I move back to the US (not that I have ever lived there). But see, there is a solution ;)

L.A. Pontes (goodreadscomlapontes) She really said that? Great solution, no doubt. But you know, I'm not really steping into the question of expanding the giveaway to other countries. At least thats something they say they're planning to do. But in the meanwhile, there should be a way for an author to get a better look, a thorough look, into the giveaway. After all, he'd just paid for the thing, and I reckon its a pretty lucrative business here in Goodreads, right? So, the moment the author's credit card is charged, he should be allowed to see the giveaway pages, you know?
