Dining Hall
Amelia lounged on a cushion in the dining hall. She was bored and did not have a task to complete. She usually came here when that happened. It was entertaining sometimes to change the emotions of those weak mortals that were being fed on by other vampires. She was not really hungry herself but did not think she would turn down a bite if one came by. Especially if it was a woman. She sighed as she looked around the room again and saw that she was the only one here.
A loud crash barely made her flinch. She turned slowly, trying not to give any sign that she was interested in who had just burst in. This was only slightly true if she was being completely honest with herself. She was somewhat curious.

Valentine was not in the mood to be argued with, nor was he in the mood to tolerate much more. The farmers should be getting to work and no doubt should have everything set up by morning. But what was really irking him was the fact that the little princeling was still hanging around and assuming it was alright to still ask requests from them. He was in their domain now, he had no rule but he supposed he would keep the air of royal guest for now. It might come in handy. He walked into the room with a very thick aura of danger on him. Thankfully no one was around, or so he thought until he spotted Amelia. Smirking he had a devilish idea as he made his way over. "Amelia, boredom struck you already." He asked, taking a seat across from her, waving at one of the attendants to bring him one of the new ones. Markus had kept him busy longer than he wanted and his hunger had spiked since then. "I have a proposition for you, daughter." He muttered, brushing specs off his clothing. "We have some new stock and one in particular is cause for suspicion or concern if you will. The prince seems unbefittingly attached to the morsel which could have repercussions. I want you to keep an eye on them, make sure they do nothing untoward. You might be able to even toy with the little prince and use the girl as your entertainment for the time being, see what he does. After all I don't trust the little worm not to try anything. He has power. So will you take up the offer? If not I shall go to someone else if you are not up to the task." He told her with barely a shrug as the attendant brought him one of the new morsels, already feeling the bite of his canines and the boiling of his blood.
Amelia inclined her head to her father when he sat down across from her. She straightened in her seat when he said he had a proposition for her. "A prince is here?" she asked to try and show some polite interest in what her task would be about. "I can keep an eye on them Father. It would be my pleasure." Amelia was happy to have some new blood to try her powers on. She enjoyed the looks of confusion as people realized that their emotions were changing without them consciously doing so. "There is no need to bring someone else to do this task. I will have the two of them thoroughly turned around and unable to know what they are truly feeling." Amelia fingered her sleeves. "What is the name of the girl?"
Valentine could tell she was neither interested nor bored she was just indifferent to the subject, not that he cared as long as she did the task provided. "Yes one from Vada. He has power so don't underestimate the boy." He told her, knowing she would side track and become victim to her own prey. "Good, see that you do, I don't want any slip ups." He warned her. "Try not to tangle them up too much, his highness won't want unnecessary trouble to deal with." He told her as his meal sat beside him. "Annabelle or something mundane like that." He waved his hand at the name like it was a bad taste in his mouth. "Also try not to break her like the last three." His eyes flashed briefly and in a blur had fed, sitting up right with a trail down the corner of his mouth. He pulled his handkerchief from his sleeve, waving the livestock away as he wiped the blood away. "Don't disappoint." He told her before getting up.
Amelia winced, so slightly that unless you knew her you would not see it, as he told her told to break the girl and said, "Yes Father." She stopped fingering the sleeves of her dress as she thought of the ways that she might toy with her new play things. She also wondered what sort of powers a human prince from Vada could have. "I will not disappoint you Father," Amelia assured him.
((should Amelia go find Annabelle now?))
Kayne had slowly made his way down the maze of halls, finding that his thoughts were all over the place. After leaving the prince's room he felt bad for killing the lycan, though it didn't change the fact he had always hated the snake. He could already hear his master barking at him and telling him his punishments, so without thinking he thought he'd make his way down. He had killed without consent, but then he had saved the prince which he assumed would be to the masters liking. He wasn't so sure, but what he was sure of was that the master of the snake would want him punished, so he was punishing himself ahead of time.
Jakub was just finishing up on a guy who was about twenty seven or so and he tasted ripe. He stood pushing the body off of him. Luckily the guy wasn't dead just yet simply drained of energy. He saw the lycan of his father's and smiles kindly wiping his mouth, "Hello, Kayne." He couldn't explain it but he held some form of attraction toward Kayne fromt eh time Markus allowed him to live to today. His attraction grew into an infatuation and desire...for him it was a forbidden desire. Lycan's could be used for pleasure, but never were they able to be used as lovers. "Doing my father's bidding are you?" He asked with a charming smile.
Kayne's ears twitched up in response to a familiar voice calling out to him. He finally lifted his head to spot Jakub only to bow it again in respect and slight fear. He realised he was no where near the dungeons and had simply followed his nose. Blindly he had placed on bottoms as he had walked around in human form, having thought he had shifted into a wolf, though sometimes they felt the same. "Master Rosa." He murmured. "Yes,... no... well not right now. I'm going down to punish myself. I killed the snake lycan, but it was for good reason, though I'm sure the snake lycan's master would want me punished in someway. So I thought I would make a head start."
Jakub laughs coldly, "You honestly believe that do you? I forbid your punishment, Kayne." He said having blushed the slightest if he wasn't so pale. "Whatever the reason behind you killing someone's Lycan I'm sure you had good reason, besides they are just animals." He says having never thought of Kayne as a simple animal or anything close. He was an immortal and that was how it always would be. He was so attractive especially with wearing only bottoms that left nothing to the imagination. "Please, Kayne have a seat beside of me...I jsut finished eating. "He says his charming smile ushing to not reveal hsi desire for Kayne but at the smae time praying it to be returned. The mortal that fell at hsi feet at last woke upa nd walked off light headed.
Kayne blinking in confusion, tilting his head to the side as if that would help him understand. "But Master Rosa, surely there should be something I can do to appease the snakes master. He will want something in return for losing a guard." He told him, rubbing the back of his neck with uncertainty, frowning softly at the cold comment. He didn't like to think of them as 'just' anything. They were people, people he learned from, made friends with for as long as they were alive. He obliged the young masters request, not that he was in any position to refuse, standing aside as the man wobbled off. He took a seat, sitting indian style. "Can I help you with something young master?"
Jakub smiled a bit anxiously having a few dirty thoughts on what Kayne could do to help him, but he did not word them. "We will get his master a new Lycan. Those things are in large number and can be retrieved through the mortals of Vada." He says with a smirk. "More Lycans can be made and we will get him anew one. I expect that it will only be few more centuries before my father trust you enough that he gives you a gift of your own." He says not wanting to spoil any surprises, but he had overheard his father working on a debate to change Kayne from Lycan to Vampire.
Kayne nibbled at his arm due to an itch, so much like a wolf in both forms. He wasn't exactly happy about the idea of forcing people into something against their will nor was he pleased to hear about humans being nothing but disposable. His parents were human once, they were lycans once and he treasured what little memory he held of their faces, though slightly blurred. But all he could do was no in understanding because he wasn't really allowed to be outspoken. "A gift?" He asked, confused and intrigued, though somehow he doubted he'd get anything he truly wanted, which was to see the outside world for once. Sure he got to stare out windows but set foot outside was another thing. "But master has already given me many gifts, like life, cuffs, a necklace...." Though two of those were to harm him and one was out of mercy and intrigue.
Jakub smiles, "Kayne, if you asked I'm sure my father would grant your freedom along with higher immortality. You will be more than any Lycan more so than what you already are. To be an Immortal is one thing but to hold a status with it is something much greater." He syas looking him over with asmile.
Kayne unconsciously clutched at his chest knowing that what Jakub said was impossible. All of him was practically bound to the castle unless Markus stated otherwise, which only meant if he was around Markus at all times. He frowned, shaking his head. "But I like the way I am now. I don't think I'd want to change. This is all I've known." He admitted, not really keen on the idea of becoming something like his masters. They all seemed to harbour hatred and darkness, he didn't want to dwell, he wanted to live. "To be free with my own rules and title would be... A dream, nothing more." He knew where he stood and Markus was the alpha of his pack.
Jakub nods, "I think if you prove you are loyal even without magic binding you freedom will be granted in hopes that we may have an ally in you, Kayne." He presses his hand to Kayne heart, "What rest in there is bound by powerful magic. IF you could prove your loyalties without such magic binding you would you still feel trapped here? This heart is pure and I think that without such binding magic you would prove to be something great, Kayne. You are special and in hoensty you may not find it appealign to you, but I have always felt something for you that would give me beleif that you would stand by your master's side even if you were not a slave to him." Jakub explains affectionately.
Kayne nodded in understanding, having always been loyal but sometimes begrudgingly so. He didn't always agree with his masters orders but he always carried them out, whether out of fear or just plain robotically. He looked almost pained when he looked at Jakub. "But there isn't a way for my to prove my loyalty, not unless master deems me worthy of being unbound and even then it is a leap of faith from master." He murmured softly, feeling guilty at the thought that he might not be as loyal as Jakub believed him to be. "I thank you for your faith in me, but it is ultimately up to master to see if he believes me to be trust worthy." He told Jakub, rubbing the back of his neck in thought.
Jakub nods, "What if I make it so? What if I broke your binding and gave you freewill? Would you still be loyal to us? Would you do as my father asks of you?" He asks having a plan on giving Kayne his freedom .Deep down inhis hearts desire for Kayne he had nothing but the desire to please him and amke hsi dreams come true. He stands before him. "Do you swear to remain loyal to Xuin and to me?" He would say Markus, but deep down he only desired his father's demise.
Kayne looked up at Jakub in surprise and confusion. "I-I....." This was too much, too much to handle. He'd never been questioned so deeply on his loyalty, on his feelings, on anything really. "I-I'm not sure what to say young master, I have heavy bindings. Only master can undo them properly." He bowed his head a frown creasing his features. "I shouldn't be thinking of things like this. I should get back to my duty. I need to see master, tell him what I've found." He got up, his thoughts conflicted. He only ever did what he was told, it scared him that he was questioning himself and his master, scared that he might just turn into a low life lycan and be killed like the rest. He didn't understand it himself, but he wanted freedom, but didn't know if he was ready for it.
Jakubs stands with a nod, "My offer always stands, Kayne. I am willing to help you and I know how to. My father's magic is dark, my magic is light." He says plainly. "If ever you change your mind, come find me." He says with a charming smile. "Please do not hesitate." He says watching the Lycan. "You are a valuable asset to future generations of your kind." He meant every word. He would do anything for the Lycan and that even meant allow more like him to be procreated.
Kayne stood and looked at Jakub with thanks yet still concerned. Somehow he could tell there was a trap involved if someone else tampered with his bindings, like a fail safe act. He nodded and bowed. "I promise to think more on the subject, if I think I'm ready I'll come find you young master." He told him, rubbing the back of his neck in thought. "I shall be off now young master." He murmured, shifting without thought as he padded off to find the master and report his findings.
((perhaps both arrive to share their information? Only Kayne seems to be a bit more merciful than Valentine. But it is up to you I'll post Markus somewhere.))
Amelia walked into the dining hall with one purpose in mind: She needed to feed. She walked over to a couch and sat down. Soon an attendant brought over one of her favorites. She smiled as the woman knelt before her, offering her neck willingly to the Vampire before her. Amelia trailed her fingers down the woman's body before her eyes turned red, her fangs dropped and she bit her neck, drinking in her life-giving blood.
Markus walked into the hall and many servants raced to the shadows in hopes they were not to be fed from by him. Markus always drained his victims of life completely and no one seemed in the mood to die jsut yet. He move to the far end where his own seat awaited and snapped his fingers. "A fine young male will do." He syas coldly. "I am in the mood for a bit of fun." A young man or boy rather no older than 16 was brought forth and he was fresh from the new crop. "Do you know who I am boy?" The boy downed his ehad wth a nod. "Yes, sir. You are the leader of Xuin I am unsure your title, but I knwo who you are." Markus smirked, "Good...now come here boy." He rose and moved ot AMrkus ever slowly before he was grabbed in a flash by the neck and Markus sank his teeth into him deeply. He pulled back after a few seconds blood dripping form hsi mouth like an animal. "Take him to the cells and give him plenty of drinka dn food so he may heal better." He syas completely out of character. The boy was shaking all over as they dragged him away.
Amelia lifted her head from the woman, licking the blood off of her fangs. She licked at the holes she left in the woman's throat, causing her to shiver. She kissed the woman briefly before sending her away. The woman rose and walked unsteadily away. Amelia watched her walk away, her away glued to her butt. As she walked into a shadow, Amelia let her gaze wonder around the room. That was when she noticed Markus. She bowed her head to him in acknowledgment of his presence.
Markus gave Amelia a nod and a gesture to come and sit by him. He had heard whispers of a plot against him and he needed to secure his allies. He hoped he could secure such with the deadly daughter of his Arbiter.
Amelia saw the gesture join him and stood. She walked over and sat across from the Dominus. "Lord Markus," she murmured to him. She smoothed the front of her dress and spread her skirts out. She wondered what he wanted with her.
"My dear Amelia tell me what news from this fortresses walls do you have to share with me." He asks with a cold and dangerous smile. He needed to know what was truly going on behind his back. Amelia always had the good solid information apart from the snake of a son Jakub was.
Amelia met his gaze evenly. "What sort of news would you like to hear, my lord?" Amelia asked him blandly. She knew many things that when on in the fortress. Many things that could help her, many things that could harm her. It was a blessing and a curse these powers of hers. She could manipulate people into doing what ever she wanted, telling her their darkest secrets. The one person she had never dared to try it on was the man sitting in front of her.
Markus smiles a bit more warmly. "My dear Amelia what words reach your ears that should concern me? I have heard much about Plots against me. Some even say more spies haunt these halls apart from the murderer of my consort." Markus says with dark heavily set eyes.
Amelia had hoped that he would not ask her about the plots against him. It put her in a delicate position. She obeyed her father's wishes and now seemed to find herself in a shaky alliance with Jakub, Marcus's son. Whatever she said now could ensure her survival or seal her fate. She kept her blank face as she said, "I have heard that the conspiracy and carrying out of the murder of your consort came from high in chain of command in Ældingar. I do not know who ordered the deed to be carried out only that they are very highly placed. As to plots against you, my lord..." she trailed off there.
Markus nods with appreciation of the knowledge. He knew he could trust her. "So continue...I am more than certain that you have heard whispers against me. If I have I know you have heard even more. Go on dear child I give no threat out I merely ask for what your ears have heard. I trust the daughter of Valentine as much as I trust him." He assures her kindly.
Amelia was still hesitant to speak. She had known the Dominus her entire life and as much as he said he trusted her, she did not trust him. She raised her chin slightly as she looked at him, wondering if she angered him, she would be able change his mind quicker then he could harm her. "I have heard vague rumors over the years, my lord. When I have tried to trace them down, I have that that is just what they are. Some people have expressed their concerns lately since the death of your consort." She watched carefully to see his reaction. What she had said was mostly true, many things she had heard were rumor and their were concerns among the Vampires about Markus's state of mind. The only thing she did not tell him of was her conversation with his son.
Markus nods charmingly, "Very well...you may be a valuable ally yet, Amelia." He says without removing his eyes from her. He was studying her closely. He wanted to watch for a fault in her as he did with anyone who spoke to him.
Amelia did not even flinch. "You are too kind, my lord," she said inclining her head towards him. She did not shift her gaze from his. She had spent all of her life learning about the emotions of other and what actions betrayed a lier and other such things. "I'm honored that you would think of me in such a way."
Markus gives a nod. He turned his head from her. "With such an honor comes pressing matters to address. My son Jakub knows people who are willing to turn on me and I need some one I can trust to keep me informed. That alone will not be enough. I have grown distant of my son. I want you to attempt closure with him and proceed to inform me of his interest and his infatuations. I only want him happy here. As I am sure you have realized he is a Witch still as I want my children to have options. I find hope in that if he is happy here he will turn and be prepared to replace me as I soon plan to breakout new laws for the Immortals of the throne." He informs her with a request.
Amelia watched him carefully. Did he know of Jakub's true intentions to remove his father from the throne? What would he think of this idea for Jakub to take the throne but only if he turned? "I have indeed noticed that he is a Witch, my lord. I remember well the day that he was born to you and your late consort and his decision to remain a Witch when his siblings choose to become Vampires." She did not say she wished had had such a choice. To perhaps know the feel of the sun on her skin without turning to stone. "If I might just clarify something, my lord? You wish for me to find out what makes him happy here?"
Markus gives a nod almost hopeful. "Yes, we'll your specialty is emotion so I thought who better than the daughter of my most trusted ally?" He says smiling.
Amelia thought for a moment. Here she was working for the three most powerful people in Xuin. Though she was loyal to her father, she was only now starting to realize that her blind devotion to him for the last seven centuries might not have been the best thing for her. Still, she was thankful for the skills she had learned and the opportunities open to her because of her powers. "Very well, my lord. I shall try and learn what it is you seek."
Markus gives a half nod before his eyes go wide. He sensed a new presence in his kingdom and in his fortress. A powerful presence he hasn't felt for almost 700 years. "If you will excuse me my dear someone who has bound my heart in chains is present And seven hundred years of longing calls for my attention." He says urgently leaving the hall in a rush.
