Alexandra stood in the ladies restroom, looking herself in the mirror, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear and let out a breath she did not know she'd been holding in. Pulling out her phone, she sent a text to Reese and then tucked her phone into her black clutch. Carefully she pulled out her pink mask and slipped it over her eyes
Reese hurried into the ladies washroom to meet Alexandra. She was glad that she was finally able to find someone she knew because the unfamiliar faces were making her highly uncomfortable. She slipped her phone into her black clutch as before entering the washroom. Once inside, she recognized the dress instantly. “Damn, Alex,” she chirped as she clapped her hands in a positive upbeat way, “You look hella fine.” She stood beside her taking a quick once over in the mirror, fixing her hair even though it was already in place. She was nervous. She was nervous about the night. About what she was wearing. About seeing Damien and Stephan. Stephan was technically her date right? Then why was her mind drifting to Damien. Already wanting to leave without the night even starting. Speaking of the devil, she felt her phone go off and was quick to send reply to DC, and texting Aurora. She turned her attention back to Alexandra. "Have you seen Aurora?" she asked as she cocked her head to the side as she was missing their younger classmate.
"Thanks, you like great too" Alexandra said truthfully, "ANd I haven't seen her yet.."she trailed off, pausing to smooth her skirt meticulously, "Reese, I have so much to tell you about...so much happened last night" she bit her lower lip for a moment before remember her lipstick
Aurora was just rushing off towards the restroom when she received a text from Reese, quickly pulling out her phone from the small white clutch that matched her dress. Sending off the reply, she peeked around the small area to check if she could spot anyone. It was actually a lot harder than she thought. Sure, some were pretty obvious from spending years and years with them in classrooms-- but when you were looking for someone in particular, it became a bit more difficult. Not that she would openly say she was looking for someone specific aloud. She could only imagine what her friends would think if they found out. With a small sigh, the girl continued on her way towards the bathroom; removing the silver mask she wore while being careful of her hair. It had taken her far too long to get it to match the picture she'd found online, and there was no way she was going to ruin it. As soon as she stepped into the bathroom, she picked up on two very familiar voices. Aurora was both relieved-- but also a bit fearful, having hoped she'd have a bit of time alone before coming up with a game plan. Considering she hadn't heard from Colette yet, the redhead was on her own for the time being. But with a clearing of her throat and after putting on a smile, Aurora entered fully into the restroom and called out, "Is that my two favourite girls I hear?"
Reese peered over at Alexandra, as she digged through her purse searching for her power and corresponding brush, “Is it good or bad?” she asked her friend as she dabbed his brush into her pale powder, “Do I have to murder Ashton and feed his body to the dogs?” Yes, Ashton always meant good, but he usually ended up causing trouble, especially when it came to girls. She knew Alexandra had feelings for him, and she understood why. She personally even had feelings for him at one point and it because of how sweet and well natured of a human being he is. Always putting others first. Through, of course, the two decided that it was better than they were friends. Most of think after being each others first for everything that it would be awkward being best friend, but honestly she hardly even remembered. She brushed the powder onto her face to re set her foundation as she turned her attention to her back to Alexandra, waiting for her response, she felt her phone go off twice, one being for Damien and the other from Aurora. Quickly replying to Damien, she was about to tell Alexandra that Aurora was on her way, but she could already hear her voice behind them. She turned around and flashed her friend a smile. She quickly took in her appearance and her mouth dropped, Aurora looked beautiful, even better than that, perfect. She giggled softly, as she pulled Aurora in a quick hug, “You look great. Oh, my god.”
Alexandra smiled fondly at Aurora, "Hey love" she said gently, knowing the younger already knew everything about what had happened. She didn't have words enough to thank her for being there for her the previous night. "And don't harm him...just yet" Alexandra said with a half smile, "But things are...messy. More complicated than I'd like. Gwen officially hates me. She practically attacked me last night" she frowned, remembering the incident
"Let me guess- We're talking about a boy with the name that starts with A and ends with -shton?" She chirped up as she moved to stand by her friends, looking over them both in awe. Both of the girls looked absolutely amazing; almost as if they had both just stepped out of a fashion magazine. Aurora suddenly grew a bit self conscious about her dress, knowing that she was the only one insane enough to come looking like she was from some 30's silent movie. "You really think so?" she questioned after Reese's compliment, giving herself a once over in the mirror. The girl would be lying if she said she wasn't concerned about her look-- about how a certain someone would think she looked. But Aurora couldn't worry about that right now. What really mattered was what was going on with Alex, perfectly manicured brows furrowing as she turned to look at her fellow redhead. "Can I just say, Gwen needs to be put in the nut house just as much as her so called no-really-dead ex boyfriend."
“Damn. Doesn’t Ashie know about this? Like knowing him, he wouldn’t rest till he sorted it out. Like he invited you to sleep at his house, like she has no reason to be mad. You didn’t invite yourself,” she explained as her eyes widened. She couldn’t picture Gwen getting violent. But than jealously did strange things to people. She understood why Gwen would want to fight for Ashton but this wasn’t the way to do it. She zipped up her clutched after shoving all her makeup inside. She gave Aurora an honest bright smile, “Huh, you look amazing. Like if they needed a picture of the word perfect in the dictionary, it would be you right now.” She loved her style, she loved how she didn’t follow the crowd and looked amazing doing it. She knew how to dress. She wiggled her brows in her friends direction once she noticed caring about her appearance was completely out of character, “Is there a male that I don’t know about?” She felt her phone go off and she quickly replied once again to Damien with a bright grin being plastered upon her face.
"Well, I mean, we kissed...but she doesn't know that. SHe can't know that. Not even gg knows that...yet. I'm sure when the whole thing blows up she'll be sure to announce it. But...god I don't know, there was something there. I don't know how to explain it." the red head began massaging her temples in frustration
Aurora gave Reese a wide grin, thankful for the compliment as she turned from the mirror. "Wh-what? No, of course there's no guy. Please, Caleb would kill me," Aurora stated in her best joking tone, turning her attention back to the mirror. Her mask was still in hand and honestly she wasn't all too eager about putting it on just yet. After setting it on the sink, she leaned back it with her fingers curled around the edge. The whole situation with Alex was-- a complicated one to say the least. Though she knew most of the details, Aurora was sure that a few were still missing but she refused to push the subject. "I agree with Reese. He was the one that asked you to stay; it wasn't like you barged in and invited yourself," she offered with a slow nod of her head. Pink stained lips were pursed, thinking over all that Alex was telling them and sighing quietly. The red head truly wanted all of her friends to be happy, but with the way things were going--everyone denying their feelings for everyone else--it was going to be a rough road getting there. "Don't worry, no one's going to find out. But...it's obvious something's there; we know it, Ashton knows it, and I bet Gwen does, too. Hence-- the hostility."
"He'll never choose me...not over Gwen" Alexandra frowned, reaching into her clutch and habitually touching up her dark red lipstick. "Gwen is...Gwen. Ashton loves her, and feels like he's got to protect her. I'm just his little pity party" she frowned, glaring her reflection in the eye
((18 hours later #swag ;) and thanks guys! :) and np:) ))
“Mmmmm hmmmm,” Reese teased as she poked her friends side playfully, “I will find out who he is advantally.” She was happy that Aurora was being cute about someone, and that it wasn’t about Tyson because no one could be happy and cute with him. He just wasn’t that kind of a person. He was cold and hostile, and down right a horrible person. She let her mind wander over to their relationship and surprisingly she couldn’t help but smile. Yes, their relationship did end on a bad note, but it had started on a good one. They had their cute moments, but when you compare it to the end, the positive aspects were easy to overlook. What he did was unforgivable, and her smile quickly faded away. Reese leaded her back against the counter of the restroom before adding with a sigh, “I don’t see what he sees in her.” She surprised herself in saying so. She wasn’t usual one to completely be negative about someone unless it was Tyson or herself, but she just saw that Gwen was causing more drama for Ashton than she was worth. At least in her opinion. She placed a hand on Alexandra’s shoulder be giving her a reassuming smile, “You can’t say that. I am considering what you told be about him. It seems that him and Gwen are going through a rough patch. Knowing Ashton, he usually doesn’t stick around with shit gets tough.” He loved Ashton to death, but the boy honestly, was not the best boyfriend to have. Her eyes were practically glue to her phone the whole time, while she was texting Damien, giggling softly at his responses, and then Stephan’s name can up, and now again. She was stuck between the two.
(( I'll get to it in a sec I promise; I'm trying to get started on transferring Damien to the new template o/ ))
((lol its fine :) i'mma be late for the stage and ballroom response because I'm shifting my characters :) ))
There was a faint heat slowly beginning to make itself known in Aurora's cheeks, Reese's teasing being the obvious cause behind it. The redhead could only hope and wish that her friend didn't find out who was currently on her mind-- at least not just yet. It wasn't as if she understood the the reasoning behind everyone's hostility towards Tyson; she had been witness and observer to the chaos he'd created in the past. She knew too well of his reputation, the amount of girls he had gone through and used over the years. But Aurora knew, with everything she had, that every last bit of it was an act. And glancing towards Reese just then, the girl had to wonder if her friend was remembering a better time with the boy in question. Forgetting it for the moment (and shaking of the unnecessary jealousy that came with it), Aurora looked towards Alex with an agreeing nod to Reese's words. "I don't see it either. I mean, I'm sure she's nice around him but-- she has a way of reacting way too extremely," she concluded with a sigh, fingers tapping against the edge of the sink. This whole thing was a mess. All of their love lives were clearly a mess Aurora realised, taking note of the shifts in Reese's expression while looking at her phone. With a soft click of her tongue, the redhead pushed off from the sink and turned back to the mirror. "Ashton does have a habit of...running away when things get hard. Look, just talk to him; figure things out. It's really all you can do."
Alexandra put her lipstick away and nodded, "Alright. I'll try my best. And thank you guys, really. You are the best friends I could ask for" she said earnestly, looking down at her dark pink skirt
Reese sent another reply to Damien before shoving her phone back into her clutch. She wasn’t usually glued on her phone, but lately she spent most of her time on it. Boy, she thought with a sigh. She wished she could go back to the time when all she wanted to do was colour and nap. Back when she didn’t need to worry about her appearance, about how others saw her, about boys. She peered over at Alexandra and she could tell that she was worried about Ashton’s decision, and the look of Alex’s face, described exactly how she felt with Damien. What if I’m not good enough feeling that somehow boys always brought upon you. She placed her clutch on her arm before stating, “No problem, Chica. And if in end, he doesn’t choose you, he’s plain stupid.” She flashed them a bright smile before adding with a slight giggle, “Well, Ashton’s already as dumb as a doorknob, but you know what I mean.” She hoped that he playful mood would lighten up the others, even if it wasn’t working on herself. She turned her attention back to the mirror, fixing her blonde hair once more before saying, “Oh, yeah. Stephan’s on his way. He’s kinda like my date.” She thought she would inform the girls and what she had decided on the night before. Turning her attention away from the mirror and straightening dress before stateing, “Now, we should hurry out soon. I don’t wanna miss Caine’s first song.” Once the words escaped her lips, she realized that she had only referred to Damien and not the rest of the band, and a bright blush formed on her cheeks.
"Date?? When did that happen??" Alexandra asked, mouth open in pleased surprise. "Congrats girl, he's quite the score!" she giggled, tucking her phone away, "And I suppose I must go meet my guy now as well"
There was a slight tension that had settled over the three during their conversation. Even as other girls came through and left the restroom, it was hard to really take notice of them. Aurora could just tell all three of them were in a state of distress in one way or another-- so for Reese to make an attempt at lightening the mood, she was truly grateful. Where was that happy-go-lucky always smiling Aurora? This was a night meant for fun! And there was no way she wasn't going to have it, or allow her friends not to have it either. Putting on her usual bright grin, she turned back from the mirror and raised her mask. "We'll discuss Ashton's intelligence later. For now-- Let's just focus on having fun, yeah?" With that, she went about donning the mask once more; taking extra care of the butterfly ornament. With her lips parted to speak up again, turning to face the pair, Aurora stopped halfway at Reese's proclamation. A date? Did Damien know? No, there was know way otherwise she'd be dealing with annoyed texts drilling her about it. She simply cleared her throat, keeping her own thoughts to herself for the moment and instead giving a small laugh. "I guess I should go find James. I kind of abandoned him on my way to the bathroom," she stated with a mock look of remorse. Removing her phone from her clutch, she sent the boy a text to let him know she would be finding him soon and began heading for the door. "Alright girls, let's go cheer on the band and have fun!"
