Brittany Willows (brittanymwillows) I noticed Goodreads does not allow authors to hold ebook giveaways, and I've done a bit of searching around this morning, but I can't seem to find much information on the topic. So I figured I would ask here.

How exactly would one go about holding an ebook giveaway? What's the best method and place to hold one? Through Facebook, Twitter . . . or some other website?

If you've done this before, what was your experience?

Nicole (nicolemdixonauthor) | 9 comments I do it through Twitter. I get people to copy and paste the information I want them to RT.

I put this information on my website and/or Blog and provide a link in the tweet so that people who want to participate can click and read the directions and get the info. (you're only allowed 140 characters in Twitter, after all, and this also promotes my blog and website). The more they RT, the better chance they have at winning.

I do often provide posts on FB and LinkedIn regarding the Twitter promo I'm running as well. You can use other sites to promote this also.

Have to join, then designate yourself as an author, then post give-away.

Cassandra Lawson | 91 comments I do them mostly on Facebook. Not so many through my own page. The book blogs love donations. If they get to know you, they will invite you to participate in virtual events where you can post a giveaway. I have the most fun at virtual events because people there like meeting new authors. Keep in mind that the winners can exchange your book for a different book, but most don't.
