A friend asked for my Monkey Bread recipe. Its one of those things that I have made enough times that I don't actually use a recipe anymore. Anyway, since I was typing up a recipe for them I thought I'd share it here as well.
Monkey Bread
Ingredients:
4 (10 ounce) packages refrigerated biscuit dough
1 cup white sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 stick butter
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly spray bundt pan with cooking spray.
Mix cinnamon and sugar.
Cut biscuits into quarter. Coat each piece in the cinnamon/sugar mix. Place coated pieces into bundt pan.
Melt butter and mix it with remaining cinnamon/sugar mix. Pour over biscuits in pan.
Bake 35-40 minutes, or until golden brown.
Run knife along edges of pan. Place serving tray or plate over the pan and (carefully) flip. The monkey bread should release onto the tray. Serve warm.
Variations:
-Add ½ tsp nutmeg and/or ¼ tsp cloves to cinnamon/sugar mixture
-Add walnuts, pecans, or raisins
-Melt brown sugar and butter in saucepan to pour over biscuits (instead of white sugar & butter mixture)
-Coat with cream cheese icing after baking
-Drizzle with caramel after baking
