Jayden walked into the training room and started his daily routine. He picked up a knife and walked over to the targets before he started throwing as hard as he could. Two bullseye, three close to the center, and only one mess up. Jayden grinned at his new record for six, then turned around to move on to the next thing in his routine.
Jayden picked up a gun and saw the prince walk in. He laughed a little to himself, then walked over to the shooting range to practice. For not being a guard, the prince was actually pretty good at shooting.
"No! Not at all, Your Highness. Better than I though you would be, being the crown prince and all." Jayden smirked a little, then set down his gun.
"Yup." Jayden confirmed as he crossed his arms as well. "So how are you enjoying your pre-wedding event?"
"Well, it is a pre-wedding event, because your wedding comes next. This event is to find out who the bride is going to be. And it kind of has. Have you met any of the girls yet?"
"And so it's begun." Jayden said with another smirk. "And anyway, I'm guessing that if the girls signed up and are here, that means they like you."
"What? Some want the crown, some want the fame, but some actually do want to marry you. You should be grateful." He said, an emotionless look on his face, masking his true feelings. "Anyway, what was she like? Maybe you can figure it out, if she wants you, the fame, the crown, whatever."
((It's totally okay!! I've been trying concentrate on homework anyway, and I was using GR as a distraction XD But it's fine, I've done that before too))
"Well, you were looking kinda pathetic, I had to help you out somehow." Jayden grinned at this.
"Well, you were looking kinda pathetic, I had to help you out somehow." Jayden grinned at this.
"Yeah. Especially with the Selection here. You'll die without someone to talk to. Trust me, relationships are hard enough with only one girl."
"Uh, not exactly. I had a girlfriend before I was drafted, but…obviously, that couldn't happen anymore." Jayden frowned slightly.
Jayden thought for a moment. "She was just…great. She was funny, smart, really curious and adventurous so we would always go on walks to new places, exploring. She was always really…determined. She knew she was going to get into a great college, get a great career as an architect, and she knew she was going to find someone great to marry eventually." He sighed. "I guess it's good we broke up, then." Jayden composed his face to the usual grin, back into reality and hiding his emotions again.
Jayden sighed, the mask he put up broken again. "No. It's just…I'm not exactly the best boyfriend. I thought she could find someone better."
Jayden laughed a little. "Yeah, well, it's over. Big deal. Anyway, I'm working here now, and can shoot a fun down here whenever I feel like it." His mask was back, and he was joking around again.
((Okay, and sorry! That's supposed to say gun not fun!))
"I'm Officer Bass, sir." Jayden said, just remembering that this was the crown prince and therefore he should respond to him like that.
"I'm Officer Bass, sir." Jayden said, just remembering that this was the crown prince and therefore he should respond to him like that.
Jayden laughed at this. "You're gonna need some help acting normal around all those girls, though."
((Haha, it's totally okay!))
"Well, yeah, but no one really calls each other "man"." Jayden said with a grin.
"Well, yeah, but no one really calls each other "man"." Jayden said with a grin.
"To girls or any teenager? Cause if it's the first, I honestly don't know the right answer." Jayden said with a laugh.
Jayden laughed again. "Don't worry. They should like you for you, anyway, if you're planning on marrying them."
Jayden smirked at this. Sure, he was a a prince, but Jayden had had to learn how to shoot straight on to be a guard in the first place. He aimed at the target, then pulled the trigger. It shot straight on in the middle, exactly where Leo's had been.
Jayden high gives him back with a grin on his face. "Thanks, you too! I didn't think princes could even shoot a gun, let along get a bullseye!"
"Wow. If I did that, I'm pretty sure I'd be thrown into jail or killed because they might think I'm a rebel." Jayden said, not surprised if something like that ever did happen.
"Yeah. Haven't you ever gotten in trouble for having a gun in your room? I mean, you are the prince, but still."
"That's sad." Jayden nodded, the changed the subject. "So Mr. King, what do you like to do besides not like your parents and shoot guns?"
"That's…kinda cool. I guess." Jayden added a grin after to show he was just joking. "At least some girls like instruments. At least I think they do."
"I usually am." Jayden said cockily. "Well, I should keep practicing. Never know when there'll be a rebel attack and royals to save."
