Well, for true mysteries with Jane Austen herself as sleuth, you can't do better than Stephanie Barron's series of "Jane and" novels, starting with Jane and the Unpleasantness at Scargrave Manor. There are thirteen of them, but sadly she seems to have stopped writing them. I understand--she was coming up on the time of Austen's terminal illness--but I wish they would go on!

That would be a dilemma as to whether to go forward or not. Maybe after she thinks about it... she'll decide to continue.

There is also Carrie Bebris Series (7 books), Mr. & Mrs. Darcy Mysteries, starting with

by P.D. James

and by D.A. Bonavia-Hunt

By the way, does anyone know what's happend to The Events at Branxbourne? It seems to have disappeared from Amazon. I won a gift card recently and that one was on my list of books to buy.

Good question -- it appears that other books by Caitlin Williams are still available but EaB shows only a paperback that is out of print.

It was on my wish-list also. Maybe there is a cover change and reissue. That happens sometimes. Whatever happened, it is gone now.
