This is where our characters are trying and figure out what-the-heck is happening, has happened or is about to happen. This is a very loose definition of what constitutes a mystery. One person's mystery is another person's thriller.

Well, for true mysteries with Jane Austen herself as sleuth, you can't do better than Stephanie Barron's series of "Jane and" novels, starting with Jane and the Unpleasantness at Scargrave Manor. There are thirteen of them, but sadly she seems to have stopped writing them. I understand--she was coming up on the time of Austen's terminal illness--but I wish they would go on!
That would be a dilemma as to whether to go forward or not. Maybe after she thinks about it... she'll decide to continue.
There is also Carrie Bebris Series (7 books), Mr. & Mrs. Darcy Mysteries, starting with
Then there's
by Lynn Shepherd and also
by P.D. Jamesand
by D.A. Bonavia-Hunt
