Carol She's So Novel꧁꧂ I've checked through your back list & see you have done some PD James but not The Lighthouse. The Lighthouse (Adam Dalgliesh, #13) by P.D. James It's set in Cornwall as a bonus!

Dee I see we have never read a book by Lynda LaPlante, she wrote the Jane Tennison series that were portrayed by Helen Mirren with much success...how about the first of one of her other series that introduces Anna TravisAbove Suspicion

message 4: by Corvida (new)

Corvida | 15 comments I recently read The Cinderella Killer (Charles Paris, #19) by Simon Brett and it was a fun book. It doesn't look as though you've had Simon Brett lately.

message 5: by Ruth (new)

Ruth | 101 comments I love Charles Paris - I've been listening to the repeats on BBC Radio 4 Extra recently. Bill Nighy makes a great Charles Paris.

I've never heard this, but he looks the way I imagine Charles Paris.

Ooh, I would second Appleby's End. Although the other nominated books look good too!

message 8: by Jean (new)

Jean Guarr | 280 comments I like Charles Paris too, but even more I love the Mrs. Pargeter series. Too bad there aren't more of them.

message 9: by Paul (new)

Paul | 2 comments How many shows has the Paris been in? He seems to be in everything from Softly Softly to Crimewatch.

I think the earlier ones such as What Bloody Man Is That and So Much Blood are better.

Thanks for this info! I would listen to Bill Nighy read the phone book. Must try this audiobook!
