Discussion thread for Enemy Mine! Is the book better?

I never heard of the book or the movie, but the book sounds interesting. Sounded to me like it was something along the lines of The Left Hand of Darkness. Or Dawn by Octavia Butler.

I've never read the book, didn't even know it was a thing. As for the movie, I enjoyed it, and its message, especially as it came out towards the end of the Cold War. I watched when I came out (I was a teen), and then again a couple of years ago, and still enjoyed it.

I guess this doesn't really answer your question. Maybe I'll check out the book.

I had no idea the movie was based on a book! I loved the movie as a kid, but I need to revisit it, because I haven’t seen it as an adult. But it’s overall message about empathy is just as important to this day.
