Jesse | 1 comments I swear that I read these books as a child, yet my parents have no recollection of them? I'm hoping I read them in the library or at school when my parents weren't around because I am positive that they exist and I just can't find them anywhere. I was born in the late 90s, if that helps determine a date for these books.

I remember the first book smelling old and being hardcover. It was about a hunter, a bird, and two other animals (possibly a rabbit?) and the hunter fakes his death for some reason to prove a point to the animals. It's also possible that this could merely a short story in a collection as I know I read a lot of books like that that my dad owned as a kid.

I'm pretty sure the second book was paperback. I can recall a young girl and a mother that needed coffee every morning to function. One day she ran out of coffee (and so did all the other mothers on the street, possibly?) and turned into some sort of monster/zombie. I'm pretty sure the daughter had to hug her mother to return her to her human state, or something to that effect.

If you can help with either one of these titles, I would be so grateful!

Ushnuu, you should start a separate thread for your second book. When people try to solve two books in one thread (unless they are by the same author or part of the same series) it gets very confusing. One book might be solved but the other not, so the whole thread wouldn't be able to categorized as "Solved."

Ayshe | 4721 comments My Mother is Weird by Rachna Gilmore appears to be the second book. Here's detailed review: https://www.umanitoba.ca/cm/cmarchive...

Jesse didn't split this into two requests so we'll treat it as if she had only requested the second book. I agree this is the right book, moving to Solved.
