The brightness of the room is different from the other council members rooms. This due to the fact that the walls are made from white marble, the lights that accent the walls give off a pure white light. In one corner of the room rest a zen sand pit. On the exact opposite side of the room rest a trove of books resting on oak shelves. Just next to it rest a record player surrounded by a horde of records. An exquisite bed with satin sheets rest in the center of the room. Just beyond the bed at the furthest wall from the door, sits a table with chairs. On the table rest a chess board made of marble, the pieces made of crystal.

Devon Nyx was walking along the hallway outside of all the Council Members' Chambers on her way back to her own chambers from the Private Meeting Room. In one hand, she clutched an empty pitcher of tea.
Kang sat near the back of his chambers contemplating the next move in a game of chess with himself. With a command the doors opened. "Indulge me of you precious time Devon Nyx." He called out towards his fellow council member.
Devon Nyx turned on her heel to face Adam. She took a step forwards into the doorframe. She tapped on the frame, and the sound reverberated. "Yes?"
"Take a seat, you and I should have a talk over some chess and tea." Adam's eyes stayed fixed down to the chess board. With a glance up he watched Devon Nyx.
Devon Nyx entered and took a seat. "Make the tea as strong as possible, no sweetener," she instructed. She tapped her leg and raised her eyebrows. "If you wish to speak, speak."
Adam poured a strange colored tea into a cup and placed it down in front of Devon Nyx. "I find my self yearning better company for more than one aspect of life. Chess, finer arts romance just to name a few." He moved his pawn one place up.
((I was making too many typos, and Devon Nyx was seeming way too long to write out using the Kindle keyboard, so I decided to reply in the morning. Morning unfortunately morphed into afternoon))
Devon Nyx raised an eyebrow. She accepted the tea and took sip. She cast it a quizzical glance but then looked up at Adam, her fingers tapping on the side of the cup absently. She cocked her head to the side. "And what does this have to do with me?"

((It's alright))"Everything it would seem." Adam placed his finger onto his rook before moving his knight instead. His eyes glanced up towards Devon Nyx. "Have no fear for your safety when it comes to drinking that cup of tea. Had I wanted you dead I would have done it a long time ago."
(( =) ))
Devon Nyx's other eyebrow joined its comrade. "You misunderstand. I merely despise the taste of sweetener." She smirked and asked, "Have you outsmarted yourself yet or are you still stuck on the point of realizing that you're just as smart as yourself?"

"A good point you make." Adam held a slight smile on his face. Marik had sent information on the resistance to Devon Nyx's PDA. Adam knocked over the king piece.((Asylum read the thread for the info.))
((I know. I may be in the habit of reading all of the threads? I only comment some of the times when I feel like saying something.))
"Felicitations for outsmarting yourself," Devon Nyx commented dryly, rolling her eyes. She did not notice the information sent mostly because she had never gotten into the habit of checking it. She tapped her fingers a little bit more loudly.

"So the main point of talking to you know is simply to ask you to diner." Adam reached for his cup which was filled with tea.
"Dinner?" Devon Nyx repeated. Her tapping paused momentarily. "Nowhere outside the Skyscraper." She had had enough of leaving and loud noise (other than her tapping) for a while. She nodded, agreeing to Adam's invitation.
"Fair enough, my chambers are more than adequate for dinner yet your chamber has a kitchen. I know you don't trust the chef's food." Adam stood up and adjusted his tie.
"I still debate whether I trust their cooking job or their trustworthiness less," Devon Nyx quipped. She stood up. "I suppose this means that I am the one cooking." She finished the tea Adam had given her.
((She'll make all the food bitter if she does cook as a heads up))

"I shall be the one cooking. My treat for indulging my yearning." Adam made his way over to the door and held it open for her. "After you."
Devon Nyx nodded, seemingly satisfied with the explanation. She led the way to her chambers and stopped at the door. She set to work unlocking the numerous locks. She sniffed and licked her teeth as she surveyed hr foyer.
((Continue there then?))
((Continue there then?))
((your post))
Devon Nyx waited for Adam to open the door. In the meantime, she tapped on her leg to a rhythm only she could hear.
((As long as I don't have to say much chess-related, I should be fine. I never actually learned how to play chess, strangely))
Devon Nyx followed and sat down across from Adam. She set her tea down next to her.

Devon Nyx moved her first piece and tapped her fingers as she waited for Adam to make his.
Devon Nyx mad her next move. She took another sip of her tea. She smirked.
Devon Nyx licked her teeth but said nothing.
"When in the past do you think I would have put up with interacting with someone long enough to do so?" Devon Nyx questioned, sniffing.
"I try to keep even that interaction to a minimum," Devon Nyx replied, shrugging. "Chess has usually been a bit too. . .interactive." She smirked.
"A shame I was hoping for a new partner to play against. This ball that is coming up, you know it will be a trap for us right."
"It would come as no surprise to me, but it also has no affect on me either," Devon Nyx declared. She had not been planning on attending; it was too loud, and she was still trying to keep a low profile.
"A shame I will not see it happen. I have a few errands to run and will not be able to attend." Adam Laughed.
"It was my own intention to miss it as I am not one for masochism," Devon Nyx stated.
"I am an insomniac," Devon Nyx pointed out, taking another sip of her highly caffeinated tea. "I am not bothered by the thought of staying a bit later."
"Perhaps we could," she agreed, licking her teeth.
"Not in particular," she answered, her tapping becoming a little faster.
"Keeps me more focused on reality," she answered simply. She paused her tapping and sniffed. "Another habit I developed long before joining the Council."
"Presently, it is about as enjoyable as reality ever gets," Devon Nyx stated, her voice holding no inflection.
