What do you have planned for September, please share with us. You never know, you might inspire somebody to pick up a book or two.

Pam (bluegrasspam) I've already started but probably won't finish until September:
Superbugs: The Race to Stop an Epidemic (a GR giveaways win)
Middlesex
Dandelion Wine

Starting:
The Dragon in the Sea - the first novel by Frank Herbert
The Goldfinch - I want to read it before the movie comes out!

Hello Connie

I am looking for a buddy to read Ulysses, are you reading other books with explanations about the original work?

B the BookAddict (bthebookaddict) | 8315 comments Nidhi, I think a group of members here did a buddy-read of Ulysses a couple of years ago.

You could look in the discussion archives to see who participated.

Joan Cleo - I just finished Chernobyl- it was very interesting and well written. It doesn’t seem right to say I enjoyed it but I do recommend it.

Pam - I thought Middlesex was a masterpiece of multilevel writing. The “middle” applies to many themes in that rich tale. I hope you enjoy it.
I was disappointed with the author’s “Marriage Plot” - I think the themes were too sophisticated for my humble brain.

Thanks for the recommendation, Joan! I'm not very far into it, but it's certainly interesting so far. I like how he sets a background for it so, as a reader, you can perhaps have a better grasp of the cause and the following ineptitude of the containment of it.
