It’s my first time reading this Authors Novel's – Necessary Lies, I’m so glad I did and will continue to read Diane Chamberlain other Novel’s and would highly recommend to others. This book had me gripped straight away, I could not put it down, although fictional characters have been used, I was able to identify straight away that a lot of research had gone into this novel, the story line was believable with an interesting choice of subject. I felt it to be very thought provoking and found myself thinking it would be interesting to compare to Social Workers of today together with other Welfare Parties, as I am sure there would still be some shocking cases, such as Baby P, Steven Hawkin’s and many other’s where mistakes have happened in the system including all parties and a lack of communication between these authorities that might have prevented such tragic consequenes.
