Number the Stars, by Lois Lowry, is a very popular middle grade book taught in classrooms across the country.

I loved Number the Stars! During my time as a teacher, my 6th grade students would read this in groups and discuss it. It was so fun to hear them talking about the parts of the book that gripped their imaginations. For them, everything about Nazi Germany was brand new. They were full of questions and thrilled by Lois Lowry's writing. If you like historical fiction, you will love this book.
