Stick Fighting or as some people put it "Sparring"

Well the problem with the foam swords are the fact that they are unwieldly and that they aren't as fun as sticks, plus painsticks are always the same thing and you can only do so many movements with them.
Faugh! Padded weapons are all very well after their own fashion (you can strike without reserve), but they won't give you the experience of what a real fight with a staff or shillalagh would be like. Besides, there's an odd kind of pleasure when you know you got in a good hit...and I can guess the reaction of most people toward my opinion...
Take it up with the Ghost Piper of An Alt Mor. I mean that now.
I'm a big fan of foam swords, and am not about to risk injurey to myself of to my opponent by using something hard without some kind of protection. Call me crazy, but safety just sounds like a good Idea.
lol, you'll never be able to convince Stefan that what he is saying isn't true
Fencing is very much like stick fighting, except that your sword is always changing in length and so on.
I beleive y'all believe what you're saying. I also believe in adhering to my own particular set of rules when fighting - and in being pretty brutal when I'm hard pressed. Oh wait, that's one of my rules. I know! Once Jacob thought I'd broken his elbow from a good strike with a staff - it was purple and everything and he had to use his left hand. Mom wasn't too happy, but she's more or less used to it. But we haven't actually broken bones. The worst hit is when it lands on your hand or thumb - no crossguards - and it either is numbed, or you drop your stick (and I've done this many a time), start humming in pain, and skip in a circle.

Also sparring with sticks is a lot more fun than using painsticks (pvc pipes with pool noodles on them,) because painsticks are bulky and never vary. While a stick is always changing, especially in length. lol. =) =) :D:D:D:D =D =)
