The writing in Vicious is indescribable, to be honest. It is so fascinating that I find myself gasping at every chapter, I'm marveled with the characters descriptions and their emotions. I'm still on the beginning of the book but it's going so good, I'm really excited!
The story and the writing have completely enraptured me. These characters are evil in their own ways, and yet I love them. However, I think I might be the only person who finds the timeline a bit jarring, but it is growing on me. I’m looking forward to part two!
So far, this book is really good. I can't wait to find out what happens next! The only negative thing I can say is that I can't connect to the main characters, even though they are interesting in their own twisted way. I do like Sidney though.
I'm really liking this book. I actually enjoy the timeline jumping all over the place! Glad I decided to pick this book up :)
I've really enjoyed Victor's (not POV but more like) focalization. He's such an interesting character. I think if he didn't have such an interesting compulsion (crossing out the text of his parents' self help books + the article about Eli to create new messages) then he wouldn't be as interesting and likeable of a character. I want to know what the timeline is revolving around!
I did not like how the things changed between Eli and Victor! I was expecting something smarter and more intriguing!
I love the characters. Victor is such an interessting and twisted character. I love reading about him and I like Sydney and Mitch a lot, too. It's amazing that you can't be sure if Victor's good or bad. The writing style blew me away. I can't put the book down and want to know everything that is going to happen.
I really, really like this so far. It's entertaining, gripping and the characters are just very interesting and impossible to get a grip around. I really like Victor..reading from his POV and so on. This part was definitely very build-up-y (but still good) and I'm excited for the action we'll be getting in the next part.
But even though I'm still not sure how good or bad Victor is, Eli disgusts me. His "godliness" and the way he likes to pose as a hero, yet kill people is just ughg. Victoria Schwab is such a good writer.(Victor and Victoria are very similar names...I wonder why she chose that name?)
Really, really enjoying this and I'm flying through it. Victor and Eli are interesting, but Sydney is my favourite character so far. I was a little unsettled by the obvious fridging of Angie, however. Looking forward to where we go from here!
I'm really enjoying this book! I love how the timeline jumps back and forth in a way that makes me want to keep reading to find out what'll happen next. The writing style is absolutely beautiful and it makes me want to read more by Victoria Schwab.Victor is absolutely fascinating, and I love how the characters aren't black or white, but rather they dwell between shades of grey. Eli is sickening me with his whole "I am burdened with glorious purpose" talk to excuse his behaviour, and I hope Vic gets to kick his arse hard xD
I loved getting to know more about Sydney and I also want to get more background information on Mitch, he is so interesting!
I'm really enjoying this book, the characters are fascinating. I found that even though Victor is by his own admission not a good person, the fact that he at least acknowledges that he isn't makes me like him SO MUCH more than I like Eli.And Sydney! Sydney Sydney Sydney - I love her so much! Eli and Victor both talk about how EOs lose pieces of their humanity when they come back, but Sydney is so sweet and so human that I can't agree with them. I'm just dying to find out more about her story!
I am really enjoying this book. I enjoy the characters so much and that there is not always the hero and the villain but always two sides to every story and some stories aren't so black and white.
I'm really enjoying the writing and the level of detail and how it is presented. Still not getting Eli, though. He strikes me as bland and not so interesting. Victor, on the other hand, seems to have more substance. We'll see where it goes.
So far I'm really enjoying this book! It took me a couple of chapters to get into it, but once it got me I was hooked. I love how it jumps around from the story from ten years ago, the graveyard, the hotel, etc. I know a lot of people don't like that, but there is too many separate back stories to really do it any differently.
I also love the writing style. Mostly because it is an adult novel and not YA, so it isn't aimed for teenagers, which I, as an adult, appreciate. Thanks for picking an adult book, guys!
I like the characters, but I'm not connected with them, but I think that's okay. I don't think this story requires a love for the characters to love the story. I do find the characters interesting. In the beginning I was sure that Eli was the good guy and Victor the bad guy. Boy was I wrong. I also love how Victor isn't clearly a good guy or bad. It's interesting.
I can't wait to get into the action in the second half of this book!
