Romantic vampires is a term that was made up for Anne Rice style vampires, characters that can be brooding and dark rather than brutal and gory. Gothic vampires can also get used here.PNR vampires are usually more romantic in the romance sense, the plot is centered on the relationship and conflicts that can get in the way of it.
This book features vampires of the brooding dark variety, while it has a central relationship that is a focus, it's more about the conflicts facing the protagonists.
C, if you had of said Gothic vampires I would have been ok. U put Romantic and Twilight in the same sentence, I start seeing sparkles. LOL! :-P
I was describing it as Gothic before and still got people expecting PNR vampires. It's actually pretty tough to convey what I mean now that feral monsters and PNR vamps are the norm as opposed to the romantic/gothic vamps from the 90s. I'd say I'm somewhere between Rice and Brite on the gothic vamp scale. Have some of my own elements of course, but that gives a decent general idea.
