Miranda ends up finding Nick and Ashley but was experiencing flashbacks as she tried to enter the shack, forcing Nick to have to coax her in. Did you anticipate her having an issue? Was this realistic?

It was realistic, but something Miranda had to overcome.

I found it extremely realistic. If she hadn’t had a bad reaction, it wouldn’t have rung true. What she went through was horrific and walking back into that space and absorbing all those smells must have been terrifying.

Yes, those sensory memories were very strong, and I recall now how the author put those into the story effectively.

I did and very realistic. It's mentioned throughout the book that she dislikes closed in spaces. I'm sure the smell made it worse.

The smell had to be awful.
