Winter Re-Read-a-thon discussion

Hai! So I just noticed that I haven't added an introduction thread, which is stupid on my part, but here it is! To start of, say something about yourself so that other members can get to know you better :D

Here, I'll start:

My name's Alma. I live in Texas, but am originally from Indonesia. I moved from Indonesia two years ago and started reading last year, but quickly climbed to the YA section of the library.

My favorite YA series is The Infernal Devices, because that was what introduced me to YA. My favorite middle-grade series is the Percy Jackson series, because they were the first books I was obsessed in. My favorite on-going series is currently the Throne of Glass series & The Lunar Chronicles. My most anticipated book right now is Winter.

Some random things about me: I am a big cat person, I love music as much as reading, I read fanfictions, and I'm obsessed with quotes. You know, the normal stuff :P

The series that really kick started my love for reading YA was the Percy Jackson series, so it means a lot to me. I don't have a favorite series because there are just way too many to choose from and I am currently reading Crown of Midnight which I am in love with and I want to finish it but I should probably write a paper that is due tomorrow.

I love music (I mostly listen to Fall Out Boy, Panic! at the Disco, and Paramore), I love to write and I am currently working on a novel that is going... okay. And I have a pet turtle.

I hope I can get to know everyone and see all of your blogs and Youtube channels if you have them!

Hi everyone, I'm Emm. My actual name is, as you can see, Emelie (pronounced just like Emily in case you didn't know), but everyone calls me Emm, so you should too! I'm 19 years old and I live in Sweden.

I can't really pick a book/series that got me into reading because I've started reading books as soon as I learned how to read, and have loved it since, but I got into YA when I became a teen, basically. My favorite ongoing series is the Lorien Legacies aka the I Am Number Four-series, but like Alma I'm very excited about the Lunar Chronicles too.

I love music - Owl City, LIGHTS, Bastille, Imagine Dragons and Marina & The Diamonds are my favorites right now. I also go to conventions and cosplay and stuff like that!

Hey guys! I'm Ivy, I'm 20 yrs old and I live Colorado but am originally from Kansas (yay Dorothy) but I've lived a few other places as well.

I've always loved reading! The first book I fell in love with was the Hobbit and the first series I obsessed over was Harry Potter. Right now I'm loving the Lunar Chronicles.

I also adore music! Ben Folds, Panic! at the Disco, Nirvana, Celtic Thunder, and the Beatles are some of my all time favorites. I also work as a musician in local retirement homes, which is kinda neat.

Hi everyone! I'm Emily (yay for starting the trend again of having multiple people in a group called Emily). I'm 21 years old and born and raised in Wisconsin. I'm moving to Texas in January though so that's exciting!

I've always loved reading as well but I kind of skipped over reading middle grade books and went straight into upper YA books and then to adult books in high school. I'm in love with the Discovery of Witches trilogy and I'm trying to get into the Lunar Chronicles (I've only read Cinder so far).

I adore music (I'm a music minor currently) and I listen to anything and everything usually. I would love to connect up with the other musicians in this group and maybe do something cool :)

Hello, my name is Anette, I'm 27 years old and from Finland.

Despite my age, I still mainly read YA and some of my favourites from this year include Rainbow Rowell's Fangirl, Tahereh Mafi's Ignite Me and Benjamin Alire Sáenz's Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe. However, my favourite on-going series is adult paranormal romance - J. R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood.

I've always read a lot but my first big obsession was Harry Potter. I love the fandom and have made many friends through it - we used to queue for the books (they weren't allowed to open stores for midnight releases here so we queued the whole night outside the bookstores) and have film premieres solely for the fan forum here so everyone was appopriately dressed up. ;)

Random stuff: Apart from books, I also buy way too many pairs of high heels. This is my least favourite time of the year because it's basically dark all the time and I hate the cold and the snow (ideally it would be sunny and +30 degrees C everyday). Someday I wish to move to UK. I love learning languages and apart from English, my other advanced foreign language is Russian.

Hi I'm Anna. I'm 15 years old and I'm from the US. I started reading when I was in six grade. I read the Matched trilogy by Ally Condie and the Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins. Then I started reading more in seventh grade when my friend told me to read City of Bones and Divergent. And that's how I found out that I loved reading.

I'm a blogger and booktuber. I became a blogger last year and I started my booktube back in May.

Other things I like than reading: singing, acting, writing, filming, video editing (depends on what), going to conventions and i love chatting with my booktube friends.

Hello! I'm Courtney. I live in South Carolina, I have a degree in mathematics, and I love to ride horses.

I've always loved to read, although I could not read well until I was round 12. My family is big into reading and we would read together or make up stories to tell each other when I was younger. The first series that got me really into reading was Harry Potter and I've been going strong ever since.

I love to write and I am hoping to become a published author. I've written a novel and I have a couple more in the works. I will be completing one of those during NanoWriMo.

Hi! I'm Aileen! I'm from B.C., Canada. I first discovered Booktube 4 months ago when I was searching for writing tips on Youtube for a fanfiction writing project I had and came upon Katytastic.

I'm pretty sure the book(s) that started my reading obsession were the Harry Potter books, which I read, because my brother just got new copies of all the books and gave me his old copy of the Prisoner of Azkaban.

I've been trying to get into cosplaying, but I have been running into time trouble and stuff.

Hi guys! I'm Kristian and I'm from Northern Kentucky, but it's basically Cincinnati, so I tell everyone I'm from Cincinnati because it's easier to recognize. I'm 18 years old and a freshmen in college majoring in...wait for it...English!

I've always loved reading from the time that I could read, which was at a very young age. I read everything I could get my hands on, butt absolute favorite was The Harry Potter Series. I read the first book when I was about 7 or 8 and I never looked back. Some of my favorite books now are The Catcher in the Rye, IT by Stephen King, It's Kind of a Funny Story, and anything by John Green and S. E. Hinton.

Actually, I'm just a nerd in general. But I love it.

Hi! I am Adrienne and I am 27 years old. I love to read anything and everything EXCEPT romantic novels/Twilight. I always try to push myself to read books out of my comfort reading zone. I am usually pleased when I pick up a book at random. I do read A LOT of YA books. I cannot help it! I do not have that much time to read during my fall/spring semester. The Great Gatsby is the book that plunged me into reading more. My favorite book at the moment is Beautiful Disaster. I don't have a favorite series, most of the ones I do enjoy are all YA. I am currently reading White Cat and The Maze Runner.

I love ALL genres of music but prefer rock.... (Black Sabbath, Metallica, Iron Maiden, The Doors, Counterparts, Emmure, Slaves... Etc). I am currently working towards a Bachelors Degree in Literature. Books have taken over my life, and I can not wait to be apart of the publishing industry.
