PJ/Heroes of Olympus discussion

This is the camp store. Owned and Operated by the Hermes cabin, usually the cabin head, this store has anything a camper can need. Nectar, Ambrosia, Weapons, Camp Clothing, Bandages, Candy, Soda, Magical Items gifted to the camp by the Gods. Often certain campers (Not to name the Hermes kids) will break in and raid some of the junk food or stuff they need, but this hardly ever happens (Unless it involves the Stolle Brothers)Pay in Drachmas, and if you don't have any, use the ATM conversion machine in the corner. It'll take any type of cash and convert it into Drachmas.

Zane walked in, the bell sounding from the door. Some young Hermes kid was behind the cash register, looking bored, but most campers were busy with the Ares stuff. "So, by flying, do you mean by plane or by Pegasi? It's a long trip for the Pegasi. I can get us a discount with my mom." He said, going to get more Drachmas in the ATM machine.

"What?" Clara asks confused "We will be going by plane" she stops for a moment "Oh and Zane, we will need you to call your mother, to get her to be a flight attendant on our flight" Clara says

Zane blinked, "Right. I'll give her a call, but I'll need to borrow your or Samara's cell or something. Dioynus confiscated mine." He grabbed a soda and a backpack for the trip, stocking up on Ambrosia and Nectar, as well as bandages and fresh clothing and snacks. "What do you think it'll take to convince Ares to drop this war against Olympus thing?"

Clara looks confused for a moment, her phone got taken by Dionysus as well. She scowled and looked at Zane "Dionysus has mine too, dammit I liked that phone too" she scowls "I honestly have no idea, we will have to get the whole story from him as well, maybe Troy ca talk to him?"

The camp store was nothing like Paris expected. She had envisioned a small shack selling t-shirts, water bottles, sun block, and hygiene stuff. What merchandise furnished the store was weapon cleaning kits, back packs, nectar, ambrosia, and temporary magic items.

"This is weird," Paris commented.

"Yeah, thats what I thought the first time I saw it too" Samara says

Clara looks up as the door tinkles and she sees Samara and a girl she doesn't recognise, she walks over "Hey Sam" she says "New camper?" she asks even though she already knows the answer
"Yeah, Paris, this is Clara a daughter of Hades, Clara Paris" Samara finishes as Clara looks warmly at Paris

Zane looked up, spotting Samara and Paris. "Sam-ar-a!!!" He enunciated enthusiastically, and he grinned, walking over to greet the new girl. He held out a hand to Paris. "Hey Paris, I'm Zane, son of Zues. Have you been claimed yet?" He studied her. He'd know if she was a child off Zues, and she didn't strike him as a child of Hades or Poseidon. In fact, by the looks of her, he would have guessed one of the more minor gods.

"Hi Clara and Zane. I haven't exactly enrolled here so I don't think I'm a camper. Claimed by who?" Paris was extremely confused at this point. A camp with mythical creatures and real weapons allows homeless kids to just spontaneously join?

Zane glanced at Samara with a look that clearly said, 'Haven't you explained anything?' But then he just smiled at Paris. "It's a little overwhelming, I know. I meant claimed by your godly parent, which you obviously haven't been. It usually happens when you come to camp, but sometimes not until you display some kind of ability that sends a flag to your godly parent, who then claims you. I got struck by lightning my first year here, and survived, and when I woke up everyone told me I had been claimed, it'd happened while I was passed out. You'll understand when it happens, it's um... Kind of hard to miss." He laughed lightly, grinning.

Clara grins "Yeah, I walked through a shadow and came out somewhere else" she says "It was so weird, I was in a coma for like 2 days and when I woke up I was claimed by Hades and noone liked me anymore!" She says slightly angrily "But I made new friends who dont really care who one of my parents are"

"Does that mean I have to do something that could potentially kill me so that my mom will notice me?" Paris asked exasperated.

Zane laughed, "No, course not. That's just how it happens for some of us." He heard Clara's anger and reached to touch her on the arm gently. A lot of demigods resented their parents so he understood. From the moment they were claimed, they were labeled. People looked at them from who their parents were, not who they were.

"Right. So did it hurt when you were struck by lightning?" Paris was asked curiously. Was he immune to electricity because he was a son of Zeus? Was he like Thor?

Zane had expected that she would ask that. He paused, wondering how to explain it, "Not exactly... I could definitely feel the electricity but it didn't hurt. It put my hair on end though. Children of Zues can act as conduits, like metal poles. Like if I was in battle and holding two swords and there was lightning, I could direct the lightning to hit me through one sword, go through me, and shoot out the other sword and hit my opponent. It's not exactly pleasant though." He smiled at her and added just to show off, "I can fly too, if you wanted to know." Then he looked to Samara briefly before looking back at Paris, "Have you seen the Pegasi yet? You haven't really experienced camp until you've flown on the back of a Pegasus. We should go riding some time, I'll show you the ropes."

"Wow. Thanks Zane." Paris was shocked. Winged horses, flying boys, centaurs, satyrs, Greek gods. What did this camp not have?

Who could possibly be my mom? Athena, Aphrodite, or some random goddess of bad luck?

Zane smiled, "No problem. I like new campers, you're all so mystified. Older campers don't even look up when a Pegasus lands or a god visits camp. They're used to it. I try to stay as new to everything as I can. Makes it more interesting." He looked back to Clara before explaining to Paris, "We were just stocking up for a quest. Which reminds me," He looked to Samara, "Can I borrow your phone? I need to make a call to my mom. Flight Attendant, she can get us a flight on the down low, but Dionyus confiscated my cell."

Samara looks up at Zane before glancing towards Clara asking a silent question. "Dionysus has mine too" Clara says patting down her pockets just in case it magically appeared. Samara nods before getting a small smile across her face "I think I have your phone" she says before running off to the Aphrodite cabin and coming back two minutes later holding Clara's iPhone 5S in its Bee case "OMG! Thanks so much Samara" Clara says before taking and handing it over to Zane after she unlocked it

Zane grinned, "Thanks. Excuse me ladies, I have to um..." He gave an embarrassed look for effect, running his hand through his hair, "Call my mom." He held up a hand and went to the other end of the store. Dialing his mom's number, he waited and thankfully she answered. "Hello?" A cheery voice exclaimed. "Hey, mom. Where are you today?" "Bangkok. I love this place, everyone is so polite. I'm inbetween flights, what do you need baby?" "You think you can pull a favor with your pilot, get us a flight from New York to Libya, Iraq, Middle East kind of place? Anywhere there would be good." "Oh honey, that area is war ridden right now... Are you sure that's where you need to go?" He frowned, "Yeah mom, that's kind of why we need to go there." Ares' base could be found wherever an ongoing war was. Wars were always found somewhere, and right now it would be in the mid east of the country. They said a few more words and his mom caved, said she could get back by tomorrow morning. Zane headed back to his friends with a heavy heart, turning to Clara. "So... My mom can fly us, but we wouldn't be able to leave until tomorrow morning. It'll give us more time to get our quest together but the Ares kids will have to hold out against attacks. I have no doubt they can do it, their cabin is fortified, but... Troy would be outside the border, alone, all night. He'd be hit harder than the kids in camp, and I'm not sure how long he can hold out. He's Troy, he's the Ares soldier boy, but he's not immortal."

Clara looks sad for a moment "Zane, where is the closest airport?" she asks "We can begin our way there tonight and then be ready to fly tomorrow morning!" She finishes excitedly
