Updated through post #378
Karen, Vi, Amy? O.K. I am coming over to this team. I don't recognize anyone on my team, and they are all asleep or something so I am now forced to harass everyone else.
Hahaha! Oh hi Sarah, I recognise you too. Sure, you can be an honorary member until your group wakes up ;)
Oh, Amy and Sanz, we should have asked if you wanted to reserve more posts up the top before babbling at each other ;)
Hi Nicole and Greta. I'm on the Soaring Eagles. Don't forget we've got out buddy read for The King's Curse for extra points all ready to go anytime after the 8th. Good luck and have fun everyone.
Hi Lisa, that sounds perfect! This is so much fun already and the challenge hasn't even started yet!
Hi everyone! I, too, see a couple of familiar faces - Greta and Vi.I'm so excited about this challenge, and anxious to get started.
My team challenge shelf is:
river-sprites
The only thing I'm kind of worried about are the buddy reads. I've not participated in those in the past, but I'm always ready and willing to learn something new.
I'm super excited to be part of the team.
*Member of team Elves of Deep Shadow runs through cackling*.....buddy read anyone?.......*swoops out*....
Yea, you found it Jingles! I haven't done too many Buddy Reads here either, just the Phillipa Gregory ones. We will get it all figured out :-)Lol, Taryn!!!
Thought I would dip my toes in the water real quick...I just signed up for a buddy read of
.I know more people on this team, then my own....
Jingles and Greta, two of my favorite GR ladies, and Nicole and Vi, current team mates on different challenages.
I am in the Mordor Seekers...totally opposite of you all, fire!
Abbie, when does that one start? I will have to check it out! Yes, I am super excited to know a few people on this team already! I do miss being on your team since Wheelathon though. Maybe we will get into another team together in a challenge down the line!
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...Not sure yet when, I think next Monday.
And, of course Jingles...I can't help myself when it comes to King..and I just have to pass him around.
Hi team!! Just popping in as I'm celebrating Deepavali today. I'll check in later today or tomorrow. Good to see we have a chatty team here.
Yup The Dark Tower next Monday!
Nicole wrote: "Oh, Amy and Sanz, we should have asked if you wanted to reserve more posts up the top before babbling at each other ;)"Lol... I guess we were all too excited to have the party gates open. Anyway, since I got the first post in I'll go back and edit it to a reserved spot.
And here's the link to my shelf for the challenge: Tower Team III
Vi wrote: "Hi team!! Just popping in as I'm celebrating Deepavali today. I'll check in later today or tomorrow. Good to see we have a chatty team here."A Happy Diwali to you Vi! I'm celebrating it as well, although I'm working this week and only get Thursday off :(
Hi everyone!
Welcome to Tower Teams III :D
Here is my shelf: towerteamsriversprites
I am part of this team, and also the mentor for the Water element teams, which are basically our "sister" teams for the challenge:
Serpents of the Sea
Witches of the Bayou
If you are interested in upcoming buddy reads, or would like to suggest your own, check out this link: Buddy Read Requests
Remember Tower Teams is a marathon, not a sprint, so try and stretch yourself and read more and new things, but above all have fun :D
We don't start until November 8, but in the meantime it is a great opportunity to get to know our teamies and share the books you are currently reading or plan to read.
About me....
I live in Sydney Australia and work full time, have a toddler, and try and moderate this group and two others on Goodreads along with running two IRL book clubs. I also love gardening, especially veggies and fruit, I have an interest in psychology and I enjoy swimming. Life is busy!

bahahahahahahahahaha <3
Life sounds busy for you, Karen!! And I feel like there are so many Australians on Goodreads that I run into! Thanks for all the info too. I'm sure you'll be a great resource for all of us. Has anyone else done Tower Team so before? Sounds like Nicole and Karen. Anyone else? Any other words of wisdom for us first timers?
A little about me: I'm located in Minnesota, have 3 little ones at home with me and we're expecting our 4th on November 25th, so one more month and right during the middle of Tower Team!! I stay at home with the kids and also watch my niece and nephew during the school year. Other than reading, my interests are going for walks, boating/camping and gardening.
I played on both Tower Team I and II and loved them both! They were lots of fun.Not a lot to tell about me. I live in the southern part of the US. I work a lot, read a lot, eat a lot, read a lot, read a lot, read a lot, etc :)
Sometimes when I get the urge or find myself with nothing to do, I'll pull out a crochet or cross stitch project. I've been in the process of moving for the last month (ugh!), but just haven't found the right place yet.
I really enjoy audio books a lot, and can listen to them at work, which helps take the edge off the craziness around here :)
I've played tower teams and wheel-a-thon before. I'm a slow reader and don't get through more than a book a week, as I hold a full-time job as a marketing professional. But whatever little time I do have, I use that to read - while eating, commuting, keeping others company while they watch the TV and I usually doze off with a book by my pillow (or with my iPad, which I constantly fear will fall off the bed some day and get trampled upon). I stay in India so I'm in quite a different time zone from everyone else. Seeing everyone here having a hobby - with their gardens and pets and crochet, makes me wish I had a hobby as well, besides reading of course. But when I'm not reading, I'm either browsing the bookstores or second-hand exhibits to find some rare ones. Can book-hunting be called a hobby?
Book hunting is totally a hobby! Aside from that lovely time sink, I'm also a crotcheter. Just joined my local library craft circle where I am the youngest member by about 20 years. I live in Melbourne , Australia, not too far from Karen (only several hundred kilometres or so). Work full time, though I'm trying to change that to part time, no kids, three cats, a couple of iPad games and I'm about to be a godmother for the first time on the 3rd of November.
November's going to be a big month this year!!
Congrats Greta - wow you will be very busy next month! I found audiobooks great with a newborn baby, hopefully you will have a bit of time to read still with 4 little ones :)
Jingles & Nicole ; I'm also a cross-stitch-er, but I must admit I haven't picked one up in years. I have a number of half-done ones though! Craft circle at the library is a great idea Nicole!
Hi Sanz - I certainly think book hunting can be a hobby :) I get most of my books via the library and those I can't I buy on kindle these days, but there are occassional books that I go out and get on hardcopy.
is a beautiful book that I had to buy in hardcover and I recently won
which is just gorgeous, but I haven't had a chance to read it yet

Sanz wrote: "Can book-hunting be called a hobby?"Oh yes, indeed! And a very fun one too, I think. I always tell myself I should check out some of the estate sales for books, but I never seem to take the time. Searching for rare books would be lots of fun I think.
Wow, we have a lot of experienced Tower Team players then! That is great. Thanks, Karen! I think I should be fine for reading...I will be spending lots of time nursing baby and I will have plenty of time to stare in wonder at baby & to read. At least I did with my previous babies.
Congrats to you, Nicole!
I always think cross-stitch or crotchet would be such fun hobbies, but I just don't have the time right now. I'm thinking once my kids are a little older maybe?? And Sanz, book-hunting would also be a wonderful hobby!
Hi guys! Wow I'm super late to this thread~ Sorry it's been a busy few days for me :)This is my first time so I'm pretty excited and can't wait.
I'll apologise ahead of time if I mess up with co-captaining
Oh yes, a little bit about me.I live in Sydney as well (hi Karen!). I'm about 5 days away from completing my last assessment for uni and I'll await for my results and *hopefully* I'll be graduating from my Bach of Edu/Arts, majoring in English and minoring in Drama (YAY I'll be a high school English and Drama teacher... as long as I don't fail hahaha).
Aside from reading I love gaming (table top and computer), going to conventions, going shopping (for books mostly and games hahaha~) having a lazy hang out day with friends at my house or someone else's and chatting with strangers on the internet!
Thanks, Sanz. Belated Diwali wishes!! Congrats on your 4th!! I'm amazed you manage to read anything with 3 soon to be 4 little ones.
A little intro - I'm originally from Southern India but currently living in Singapore. I'm a stay at home mother to a 9 month old. I'm hoping to go back to work next year though. Other than reading, I don't really have a hobby apart from reading.
I have played the previous iterations of TTRC before - I was a co-captain of the previous version.
