I will start a little of it today also then. I will take it slow but plan on having enough read to discuss next week.

The maggot thing was superbly disgusting.

I'm still grossed out about the maggot thing. If someone videoed my reaction to that, I'm sure it was some kind of frowny face. :/

It was, but I still smiled that he got his comeuppance. :)

I'm almost to 25% got moved to a new team and already told I'm getting bumped to another team next week. That will make a full month of being on a new team every week and training on jobs I will probably never do again. It's great so far but just not the same without some of my favorite characters that died in the first book. I'm starting to really like some of the new characters though hopefully they turn out to be as good as the ones who died in the first book.
I'm at 61%. I'm enjoying it but so far none of the characters are very sympathetic, I can't really root for any of them. (view spoiler)
I think your beating me addy, I'm still just under 25% because of job training. I have a 3 day weekend coming up though.

How could you not want to go back to Hopkins Bend?

LOL. Goodness! A place that warped her so much. It really did a number on her too.
I'm at 50% Hopkins Bend really did a number on her (view spoiler)

It's a common medical problem. In Hopkins Bend.

It shouldn't be fun reading this sort of story, but it so is. :)

I know what you mean. I'm in the same boat. When I read the first one I was smiling. How sick is that? I was just pleased it was so in your face.
The first Edward Lee novel I read I thought to myself WTF, why would anyone like this? Then for some reason I read another one and after that one I thought to myself WTF, why do I like this?

Yes, that's exactly what goes through my head. I ask myself 'how can you enjoy this, you're sick'. LOL

Yeah but if you didn't like the characters then you wouldn't care if they died, you'd get bored, and you would bail out on our buddy read.
