ohmigod, that's so true. but trust me, i have no idea.

........

maybe it's cuz he didn't drink out of the neck... or maybe since she woke up hours later, she didn't c his eyes change. they might of changed while she was asleep. it's probably just a stephenie meyer mini mistake.

I ♥ Luke Castellan *Alexa* (i_love_jacob_black_95) | 3164 comments They have to drink nothing BUT human blood. Edward didn't even drink that much, so his eyes wouldn't have changed.

Yeah I don't think that tiny bit would make his eyes change.

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

true.

message 7: by Kate (new)

Kate | 69 comments Don't their eyes change only when they get more thirsty? So maybe Edward had enough "juice" that it didn't make much of a difference.

message 8: by [deleted user] (new)

or maybe while Bella was sleeping or whatever, he had red eyes so he went and hunted animals!! i dunno though! lol

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

I thought about that. But I guess that's one thing Stephenie really didn't think was important. So don't obsess over it. But ya details like that irritate the logical side of me

If that was true then James' eyes wouldn't always be red. The thing is that Edward didn't get enough of Bella's blood to turn his eyes red.

Mellady77 Stibich | 1149 comments he sucked it out but he didn't drink it! He spit it out.
(playing devil's advocate here)

very good question, one which I have the slightest clue...um let's call it a movie error!~

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

Who said their eyes turn red within the hours of drinking blood? Stephenie didn't say that. The movie people didn't say that. So who is giving this idea out?

message 14: by [deleted user] (new)

Idk but it's stupid and irrelevant.

What? It is! No one cares about that. If Stephenie cared she would have put it in the book

Stephanie | 4175 comments Mod
Well someone must care or we wouldn't have this thread going.

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

True. But they are going to have to ask Stephenie Meyer to find out for sure.

Yes but its kind of nice to have something to talk about and discuss in here.

message 20: by [deleted user] (last edited Sep 07, 2009 10:35AM) (new)

It's dumb for us to argue over it though. But as long as no one gets aggressive about it it's all good.
It's better than talking about the actors from the movie.

Very true.

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

I hate the gossip about them. It's stupid.

I know. I really don't care what goes on in there lives as long as it doesn't affect the movies!!

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

Yup all I care about are the movies I am not such a fan of any of the actors. There for I don't care if they go to the grocery store to buy bread!

you have a logical side?

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

Shut up Erin

**StarLite** Cassi | 16 comments wow drama in this thread lol... ive heard everything the media has to say about the twilight cast some i believe and some i dont every actor in this world has something going on that gets out for the hole world to read. so wat i do is i dont believe most of it. if the story sounds true enough then i believe it. if it sounds fake then i dont. wat we all should be doing is waiting for new moon to come out. not argu (forgot how to spell it) we all love twilight so y r we fighting over something soooo dumb?!?!?! think about it guys

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

Ya that's Erin one of my best friends.

Erin (erndurian) You too buddy...

We're fighting?

message 30: by [deleted user] (new)

No I thought that's just the way we treat each other. Just to clear it up. Not drama but friendly arguing.

message 31: by [deleted user] (new)

Erin wrote: "you have a logical side?"

Amber wrote: "Shut up Erin"

I think it's just a misunderstanding. Amber, you probably thought Erin was implying you were not logical, which you are. But what I think Erin was asking was about you having a logical "side", like a "part" of yourself. Which she may have been wondering what you meant by that.

Cassi wrote: "wow drama in this thread lol..."

Now, that just makes things seem bigger than they actually are. :\

No Erin and I know each other outside of goodreads it was and she knows how off the wall most of my ideas are so she was implying that. She doesn't mean it in a bad way it's just a fact of my life.

message 35: by kayla (new)

kayla (cupcakeam0ur) | 125 comments no u guys listen, his eyes didnt change color because he didnt drink that much, see in the 4th book, bellas eyes were red and didnt turn gold till after two weeks or something, and edward had golden eyes in the scene so it wouldnt make a difference, ah ha im so smartical!!!!!

message 36: by [deleted user] (new)

Yay. Smartical!

kayla (cupcakeam0ur) | 125 comments that actually never caught my attention until they brought it up, lol!

message 41: by [deleted user] (new)

Me too. I always kinda knew you had to have a steady diet of human blood before your eyes went red. Because the red coloring comes from the blood, ya know?

message 45: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm am the type of person who would rationalize everything

message 46: by kayla (new)

kayla (cupcakeam0ur) | 125 comments yeah, and i think that the reason for the seperatre colors was to be distinct in what u drank, like the animal blood wasnt human blood, so it was diff color, see because i think its like human blood is pure blood 4 them, idk, i just think! but its cool, lol!

message 47: by [deleted user] (new)

LittleDolphin wrote: "So anyway that would be implying animal blood is golden, which it's not.."

I made the inference, because Stephenie Meyer said that the newborns vivid red eye color were from the amount of human blood in their body. So I connected the newborns to mature vampires who also have red eyes and blood in their body (from drinking). And the eye does interact with oxygen just like every other surface in the body, so the blood would possibly be red. The only thing that doesn't add up is in correlation with vegetarian vampires having golden eyes. Which never made sense in the first place, so it can't be rationalized now. :/

message 48: by Mellady77 (new)

Mellady77 Stibich | 1149 comments The iris of their eyes are chemically color balanced to show their color of red in proportion to the amount of dna within the blood. Since they are engineered to drink human blood, with human dna, the true eye color is red. And what Bella percieves as topaz really is a very pale orange color that is diluted by animal blood or animal dna. What is not discussed in the series is primate blood, which their dna is close to human makes the iris a deep orange. Good huh! Considering I was making it up as I went! :)

message 49: by [deleted user] (new)

That is good. It makes sense. I don't think the golden eyes could be explained any other way...Or can they? O.o
