Christian Speculative Fiction discussion

I’ve just published a short story (~1200 words) on my new website and would love some constructive feedback. Though I should state that the target audience is for visitors to my website. I did not have publishers or agents in mind when I wrote the story. I’ve deliberately broken a few rules on how not to look like an amateur, e.g., there is no character arc. However, my goal was to make a point, not merely to tell a well-structured story, but I tried to try to make it exciting. I would love to know if I have achieved that goal.

A nightmarish fog held Professor Nigel Price in its grip. What’s happening? I can’t think. Do I even remember who I am? — I’m Nigel; Nigel Price, I’m a professor of robotics at the Burton Heights Institute of Technology. Where am I?
He tried to open his eyes. The light was soft, but he felt a jolt of pain shoot through his head.
I’m lying in a bed. What bed? How did I get here? Blank.
He was enveloped in wires and tubes. He blinked, then blinked harder as if to wipe the sleep from his eyes. Where are my glasses? He tried to look around. Then something caught his eye; at first, the image seemed blurry.
