I wondered why my # of messages had blown up! This is always so exciting, and also a reminder to get my 2019 one finished up!
Yes, every year when this happens I’m reminded of how many squares I still need to fill for 2019. Eek!
Yay! This totally made my wknd!! I can’t wait to plan out next years reading. Thanks for getting that done so quickly Susan.
I love planning for the new Bingo, even when I have so many squares for this year left. Still have 12 weeks or so of reading left. Thank you Susan for organizing this!
I didn't finish 2018 and at this rate, won't finish 2019 either. But I love the spirit and the excitement! Susan, you're amazing to give this to us every year -- thank you!
@Allison, I feel like I should post something wise here about the journey and not the destination...lol.
I am probably not going to finish bingo this year either. I have too many squares left to fill and so many books piled up for awards season. :-(
Every year when this is announced I say this year I’m going to play—-and never do. So once again I’m going to try and play. It’s a great list. But I’m confused, isn’t number one and the final one the same thing?
Alan, the first one is a book from the CBC’s 100 novels list. The last one is a book from the CBC’s 100 True Stories list. So, one fiction and one nonfiction.
Started planning my reads for this Canada Bingo. So excited as this is my first year and managed to find six books from my physical shelves that I really want to read and fits into a category, as I also have a goal to read as much as possible from books I own as years of going to book sales has resulted in a large number of TBR books.
How is everyone doing with Bingo this year? I'm getting close with one book in progress and one left to go.
I still have four squares to fill. I’m trying to get a few more award books read and then I’ll turn my attention back to bingo. I have it all under control! LOL

I am filling my BINGO squares with Canadian authors (Canadian born, or living in Canada) and have two left to fill. I own the books thanks to my Secret Senders! So, plan to read them after I catch up with library books with due dates.
I’m done Bingo 2020! The last book on my sheet was They Left us Everything by Plum Johnson. I loved it! An emotional read for me as I often think about my legacy and how much we remember of our ancestors. A journey well written.
Thanks! And thanks to our Bingo challenge, I’ve been motivated to read much more in general; I’ve well surpassed my reading goal for the year and hoping to make it to 100. I never thought I’d read 100 books in a year! Lol. The countdown is on, 11 books to go😬.
Bingo! I just finished my last book, A House in the Sky from CBC’s 100 True Stories list. I can’t wait for January to start on Bingo 2021!
My Bingo 2020 Update as of today. I have 4 books to left to finish. Have them in hand and plan to be done before the 2021 New Year begins. It will certainly cut into my usual Christmas reading but that's ok. This year has been anything but usual and my reading and completion of projects has really slowed down. Can't seem to get engaged in books or anything else that usually keeps my interest but I'm determined and confident that I will complete all 25 Bingo Squares on time.
In reviewing everyone's Bingo updates, besides those who have already finished, it looks like a number of you are close to the finish line as well.
Good luck to everyone. Even if you don't finish, hopefully you will at least come across one or maybe more great books that without Bingo 2020 you wouldn't have tried. :)
Bingo! I finished up strong by rereading an old favourite: In the Skin of a Lion. Onward to planning for bingo 2021!
@ Susan - Congrats!! I remember a few years ago you were a bit hesitant about joining Bingo, but once you started you haven't looked back. Way to go!!
Congrats Susan, way to go!This will be the first year I did not finish- but I have read many great books this year, dug into books that have been on my bookshelf for years.
I just looked through what I have read this year and updated my completion plans. Only 8 of 25 books this year. Too much twitter and escapist books. Oh well, 2021 will be a better year.Congrats to all who completed this years BINGO! Happy New Year!
BINGO! I finished my last book yesterday, The Wake: The Deadly Legacy of a Newfoundland Tsunami by Linden MacIntyre ~ book about a Canadian natural disaster. All 25 books are by Canadian authors.
I had this book on my nightstand since December last year, but library books kept getting in the way. 😊
